Jott is killing Twitter and Email... as far as productivity is concerned

Yes, it’s actually very true. It’s a phenomenon I didn’t expect when we first tried Jott – you – our users actually love using Jott with Nozbe so much… that I only wish Jott was soon be available outside of the USA/Canada region for all of our Nozbe users to enjoy. C’mon Jott team!

You must really love Jotting

When we introduced Jott and Nozbe link in the beginning of this year, we did it only ‘cos we thought Jott is a very unique idea of putting your to-dos and notes into Nozbe… using voice.

However, I thought you would still prefer using Email with Nozbe (more on Email also here and here )or simply Twittering your actions straight to Inbox.

Boy was I wrong.

2:1 for Jott vs Email… and Twitter’s 10%

Comparing our statistics out of 1 Email that comes to Nozbe and is being converted into actions or notes, there come 2 Jott voice messages!

This one is even more powerful – Twitter messages are only 10% of Jotts… so if Nozbe receives 1 Twitter message, it has already received 10 Jott voice messages.

70% of our user base comes from the USA and Canada… so 30% of our users still can’t even try using Nozbe with Jott.

Just call Jott and say: “Inbox”

Working with Jott is so easy – once you have it set up, just call Jott and say: “Inbox” and the message you’ll say will automagically be converted into text that will be added to your Inbox in Nozbe.

If you live in the USA or Canada and still haven’t configured your Nozbe account to work with Jott, read this short blog post.

Nozbe will continue to add more 3rd-party services

We know you like the standard web-based Nozbe, the iNozbe for the iPhone and the mobile Nozbe.mobi … but as we’ve noticed how much you like other methods of adding your tasks/note to Nozbe like Jott, Email and Twitter … we’ll continue adding more services to help you get stuff done.

We’re already in the talks with some 3rd-party providers. Is there any other service you’d like to see pair with Nozbe? Suggest it in the comments below!

I am a product manager of a web-app that is being built on Salesforce’s Force.com platform. I absolutely can’t stand using Salesforce (or CRM solutions in general) for task/event management (a common sentiment), so I am using Google Calender to show tasks created in Nozbe and in Salesforce. This is not a completely acceptable work-around. What would be ideal would be for Nozbe tasks to integrate directly into Salesforce. Have you considered integrating with CRM platforms – which tend to be quite weak and outdated when it comes to task management?

I use Salesforce and agree with Brian that their task management is very weak.

Any thoughts about integrating with Basecamp and other 37signals apps?

I’ve been using Nozbe now for about a month. It’s been a particularly busy month. I would not have got as much done without Nozbe.

Thanks.

“IMified is an instant messenger buddy that works across all major IM networks and offers access to a growing number of web applications, as well as productivity tools like notes, reminders, and todo’s. Imified helps you get things done faster.”

For my work IMified already is a great help. It is much easier to work with as Twitter (and in fact is also a helper for Twitter inputs).

I think integrating Nozbe would be a big advantage for us all!

Hi Michael, another suggestion is to integrate nozbe with an online mapping application such as Mindomo

:-)
Janet Century 6 Jul 08 23:49

I started with Jott and found Nozbe from their website. It is the best way to get the idea that comes in the car safely to my Inbox (safely so I don’t forget it, and safely because I speak the message instead of trying to text in the car). The combination is great.

Thanks guys for your support and for the ideas! I’ve heard from numerous users that Salesforce’s task maangement “doesn’t cut it” and we’re looking into that. I’ll have a look at IMfied, too. We’re looking into the Mindmapping space, too.

Keep the suggestions coming – we want you to get even more done… and the easiest way possible :-)

Hi,

I was thinking that it would be nice to add the events from Nozbe Calendar to my 30boxes account and add ‘private’ in the tick box, so only I can see them. But the iCal link did not work to include in 30b, how come?

One other thing, I do not use Salesforce, I use Highrise from 37signals.com for my CRM. Would be nice with an integration of the task list from Highrise into Nozbe! Does their API allow it?

While at it, integration of the other 37s product portfolio, such as Backpack and Basecamp surely would be appreciated by many in this user community!

Peace,
Anders

I’d just like to second that e-motion re: linking up with Basecamp. Even if I could just import my XML file from Basecamp, that would be great. Basecamp is a bit too expensive for my needs, as great a program as it is. So I’d love to move over to Nozbe sine it’s more economical for me.

We’re currently focusing our efforts on syncing/integrating with other solutions so again – great tips there – keep the comments coming! We’ll update the blog once we have new services integrated.

Twitter no longer seems to work in the UK. Anyone else having problems? What next Michael? Please can we use SpinVox to speak our Actions via mobile straight to Inbox?

Michael,
Any chance of getting a voice recorder / transcriber built into the Iphone version of Nozbe? Now that Jott is out of Beta and charging to send to Nozbe, and their Iphone app does not support sending jotts to Nozbe, there is a chance to consolidate this feature set into Nozbe. I’d venture to say that most Iphone Nozbe users would pay for this feature. Thanks for a great application.
