Hello,
Is there a summary somewhere of the limitations when using the ipad app without an online nozbe account?
For example, does evernote or dropbox support work in standalone mode?
Is there anything else significant that I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance,
Comments:
The search function in nozbe online version is crucial. This is the ONLY way i can find my projects, since i have some 200 projects. The search function is missing in the ipad, ipod and native pc version. For that reason i fibd it very difficult to make good use of the ipad. I use it ocasionaly but it has not for me proven to be the powerful tool i expected. I use the calendar online a lot and somehow the ipaf calender item dont quite match what is online. So again, i dont use it much.
@Jakob
In case of the Macoscope applications I hear they plan to add search soon (how soon precisely I’m unable to state).
By the ‘pc version’ ... do you mean the desktop? In that case I can reassure you that the search will be added. It is a 3rd beta version at the moment and tech-boys want to make sure it is stable on other ends first. Then they will add ‘meat to those bones’ if I may put it this way. I fully agree with you that search is crucial.
In respect to the iPad calendar… I would strongly suggest emailing us at support@nozbe.com with screens showing differences between your on-line and iPad calendar. This needs to be investigated.
Jakob, if you need better search now on Windows try my free Nozbe client for Windows at http://michaelkoehler.co/revudo. Sorry i cannot help on iPad. I wait with great anticipation for an update from Macoscope.
@delfina
- by “pc version” yes I mean the desktop version
- wrt calendar… on my online version many of my scheduled items are marked as “this week”, “next week”, “week xx” etc. However on my ipad these tasks that are asigned for a specific week are translated into being assigned to a specific DAY in the week that it was assigned to in the online version. It makes a big difference for me as a task assigned for a week is more a guideline, and a task assigned to a day is a deadline.
@michael – thanks but I prefer the online version rather than having to work in two different programs. The desktop version is not strong enough yet.
@jakob
would it be possible to ask you kindly to send the comment about calendar to our support (support@nozbe.com). I would like to pass it to our developer as I’m not quite sure how it should be, but what you are reporting here is quite strange. Thank you
@delfina
Due to a number of funcional reasons and nozbes inconsistency with GTD principles I have left NOZBE and started using another platform. Support shall be welcome to contact me if they wish to know about the ipad problem.
Evernote will work in stand alone mode. Dropbox ought to also (but I will check on it, please do hold on).
Major limitation is that you won’t have access to any share/delegate features and if you have more then one devise they won’t communicate directly.
All else should work fine.
