Nozbe, Storage Solutions and Pricing

Hi Nozbe Friends,

I was curious to know if the future cost of Nozbe to endusers might be reduced if we did not opt to use Nozbe’s built-in file uploading and storage features.

With the wonderful additions of Dropbox and Evernote, I really don’t need the storage or ability to upload to Nozbe.

Thanks for your consideration.

Michael Potter

For those of us who do not use Evernote or Dropbox, but alternatives, we must pay a different price!

For instance, I use SugarSync and BOX.net instead of Dropbox and have a couple of webdav storage services in place. Nozbe is now forcing Dropbox which is a nice step forward, but ONLY for Dropbox users. If I opt to use a DropBox solution, I must reengineer my whole cloud and pay a lot more due to DropBox specifics! Also, I can’t force another service for my partners or clients!

There might be savings in storage when users transfer their files to DROPBOX/EVERNOTE. This of course opens room for Nozbe to go down with the price a tiny bit.

However, I advocate that the savings in storage space goes into the development of other integration schemes! Something standard like WebDAV or (S)FTP!

In expectation of reassuring posts from Nozbe’s team,
Zlatko.

Hello both,

Well the DropBox or even Evernote were not added to save disk spot… they were added as many users have been requesting such amendments… to be honest I’m not even sure space saving has crossed any of our minds. Thank you for pointing out something that might be obvious to others. Also please note we are not forcing anyone to use those applications. The synchronization with them has been added to help those that already use them… it is up to each and every of us to choose.

I will pass your ideas to our tech and Michael. I know the Box.net has been in consideration but I have not heard of any decisions on this yet.

File storage was never a price-driving thing. Storage is cheap and we are not in the storage business (hence the integration with Dropbox).

If we get enough requests we’d be happy to add Box.net to the mix as well.

@Michael Potter – before your next recurring payment let us know and we’d be happy to give a great customer and evangelist like yourself a discount regardless :-)
