it has many bugs, the startup is slow.
And sometimes not the most rational interface.
I hope that some fixes to complete the thing can be made.
Waiting 1 year more to get a decent/complete app would be a waste. If you already start to do something, please make sure that it has achieved perfection as lots of people are gonna use it.

Hello,
I like Nozbe.
I have try the last Nozbe Android app and this is awfull !
I am using a Galaxy Note and the Nozbe app is not working (the screen is buggy).
And i can’t leave the app without kill the app.
Is it possible to have an Android app with the quality of the Iphone App …
@BruceMarriott
Thanks for telling me. I am new to Nozbe.
I hope that the evernote do it app will be better. I really like evernote.
But Nozbe is too buggy.
check out nirvana. it rocks.
@pegazuz
This is a thread about the Nozbe Android app and its problems. That is the context. Nirvana is good BUT has no mobile native apps at all and has been promising them since last Summer. An iPhone app is said to be near but on Android all they are promising is to deliver an unspecified solution on an unspecified version of Andorid at some unspecified time in the future. They are also using technology that gives pause to worry about likely performance. For soembody looking for mobile solutions its not there – yet.
Hi *,
I agree with Bruce, I looked at Nirvana and it was not “ready for review”. Nozbe is “ready for review” and they do rather well, except for the Android app has serious problems, both in functionality and in credibility.
Two apps I am watching very closely right now are GetItDone and Pocket Informant, both in beta as we speak. Pocket Informant looks a bit better than GetItDone, but I have only seen the web app for GetItDone, not the native android app yet. Pocket Informant Android app is great, but I have not yet seen its cloud (web) counterpart, that part of the beta does not start for a couple weeks yet. But it works as-is with Toodledo as cloud sync server; while Toodledo’s interface is unpleasant, I have yet to lose a task or experience a service outage with Toodledo, it just works. Period.
No problem… will leave you to it.
Just making people who are searching aware that there ARE other solutions… but true – specific on apps, then the The-program-which-must-not-be-named has no app, which I guess actually does make my previous contribution somewhat irrelevant.
My bad.
I do have to admit that the Android app is still not officially released, although it was was supposed to be out before end of 2011. There are some users who have not problems with it at all, yet most do have.. that’s why we have appealed for logs. Many of you have been kind enough to cooperate on it and those reports did help a lot and we are indeed thankful for that.
For convenience of others I post here link to my appeal for logs. http://www.nozbe.com/gtd/forum/section-1/post-c900197a/appeal_for_android_logs
We do hope that when it is finally released it will meet requirements of our users.
Meanwhile the desktop apps is almost ready to be officially released and iNozbe 2.0 is coming in beta version (which should be at least meantime solution for those who have issue with Android or have phones that run different operating systems like BlackBerry or Windows).
@Delfina
“I do have to admit that the Android app is still not officially released, although it was was supposed to be out before end of 2011.”
I think Nozbe need to be clear: Android was promised for 2010.
It’s not slipped a month or two but has been, and remains, a disaster. My worry is that while Nozbe pump out a view its not missed deadlines by much they are not devoting sufficient resources and management bandwidth to making sure they really deliver a working solution.
Bruce. The major difference is that until last year our tech team was limited to Michael and Tom. Now we have 2 technicians and 3-4 being hired within next month or so. I’m not trying to provide you with excuse here, but show you the picture. Please do understand that it is certainly not my intention or pleasure to provide you with deadlines for something and then be surprised again and again that they have not been met. Deadlines are something that really pains me in relation to our users as all I can do is apologize, but I have no influence on how things are worked out by the tech team.
I too have been disappointed with the delays regarding the Android app. However, a word of praise is due. The latest version that dropped this week is vastly improved. It is faster, syncs well, operates in landscape and portrait and works on my tablet. All in all, it is a very good version and will keep me on board with Nozbe.
@RFRampton: I’m pleased about it getting better. Just looked very quickly and confirmed there is still no ability to move one task higher or lower than another (as iPhone app has had from day one) and that’s a show stopper for me.
@Delfina: At regular intervals I’ve heard of new staff joining Nozbe – certainly numbers totalling much more than the 2 technical people you mention. Unfortunately nobody says when Nozbe looses staff! Anyway I hope one of the 4 is an Android expert already and can finally deliver a polished app.
The last version is better but the add function is awfull in galaxy note.
And the app is slow.
perhaps beter the next version ??
@Bruce. The number has been varying… we have hired some and fired as result we have been with 2 techs + graphic for past few months. Now we have 8 candidates and Michael is about to get them for final testing. We have high hopes for this group. Those that pass testing, will start working late Feb./early March. And we certainly to hope they will prove of worth.
@CHS would it be possible to ask you kindly to send logs to our tech and contact us at questions@nozbe.com.
All the comments about a mobile app make me smile. As far as I am concerned they have never worked (except the new Android app is getting close). Why does that make me smile. I first bumped into Nozbe when I bought a Iphone 3+ years ago and started searching for a task managing app. Looked closely at several, subscribed to one and dumped it and then tried Nozbe – again because of the Iphone app. The Iphone app didn’t work, but the desktop app did and made sense, and has been a daily part of my life ever since. Migrated to Android about 1.5 years ago, and have suffered through the mobile apps disasters described above. Fortunately the way my life is structured I can survive on only the desktop app, and smile thankfully that the terrible Iphone app is what got me to Nozbe.
My advice, don’t ignore Nozbe because its mobile interface isn’t perfect, Nozbe is a great tool, and I look forward to seeing the improvements that Michael and the gang of 2 or 4 or 6 make in the future.
It will probably go the same way as the version 1 Android beta….
There will be several releases over the months to come. Each time Michael will say the company has worked very hard and lots of bugs have been fixed and performance is even better. At some point he will declare it “The best Android app ever”. After about 5 or 6 of these updates all will go quiet and then after 3 months version 3 will be released, totally rewritten and with a complete new UI that Michael will be very excited about. Despite the UI changes missing functionality will still be missing, some users will still find it doesn’t even load and there will a bunch more bugs introduced…
Despite being called version 2 the Nozbe Android app remains a beta really, bug ridden and functionally deficient to the point I don’t consider using it. A working Android app was promised in 2010 and its still not arrived really.
