I recently upgraded to one of the paid plans and wish to request a refund and to have my account cancelled. I used to be an active user of Nozbe for a while a few years ago. Nozbe is definately on the right track and I really like what Nozbe does correctly. However, the limitations that either have not been developed, pushed out or that are not planned keep me from commiting to Nozbe long term.
The following are obstacles that continue to haunt Nozbe in my opinion and make it unusable for me.
1. Sub projects. I have read Michael’s thoughts on sub task and sub projects and while they make logical sense the corresponding argument for including such features also make logical sense. By using sub projects I actually create less confusion and I am more productive not less. Needless to say Micheal pegged it that the lack of this feature will make the product unusable for some and I am included in that group.
2. Better repeating options. I remember requesting better repeating options a couple of years ago. I was disappointed that no progress had been made in this area.
3. Better Android support. I downloaded the new Android app and while it is a vast improvement over the previous version it is still somewhat buggy and lags quite a bit at times.
4. Start date. While the ability to schedule task for a specific week certainly has it’s advantages a start date is imperative in my business. I have many task that I can not work on today or tomorrow but may be able to start working on on February 12th with a due date of March 6th. The advantage to me is that if I set the start date on February 12th the task could be promoted to a Next Action starting on February 12th.
Sadly, Nozbe is so close to being an ideal solution as it was a few years ago. Michael has a vision of what Nozbe should be and where it is going, as do I, unfortunately those two visions are not the same (Specifically sub projects). I understand Nozbe has increased the development staff and that some of the obstacles I mention may be addressed in the future but I can’t wait for that day to come when there are other tools out there that I can use that make me more productive today. Perhaps as more of these obstacles are overcome I will revisit Nozbe.
Best wishes to Michael and the entire staff and good luck in making Nozbe everything it can be.
