Howto: Create nozbe tasks using ifttt

It is quite easy to create Nozbe tasks using the email channel, and to be honest I prefer this approach over native integration because it avoids giving ifttt access to your account (imagine if ifttt were compromised – the attacker could gain access to large amounts of personal data from multiple services, which is the prerequisite for an identity theft).

To create a nozbe task with ifttt, do the following:

1) Configure your ifttt trigger as required.

2) Select the email channel as the “that”.

3) Enter your nozbe input email address (find it in your nozbe PIN/nickname settings) into the “to” field”.

4) Leave the subject blank, or just put something random into it.

5) In the body of the ifttt email on a new line, put a ““ character followed by one space, then the addin/text you would like to use as the task title. Whatever appears after the “ “ is the title.

6) You can also create notes with a title and a comment: Whatever text precedes the “* {{title}” line will be treated as a comment on that task. See the nozbe help page for details: http://www.nozbe.com/help#email_integration/13

Unfortunately the forum formatter has treated the asterisk as markdown, which makes it difficult to understand.

Trying again, the format to use with ifttt is as follows:

Subject: blank
Body:
<Optional text which will appear as a comment on your task>
<asterisk> <task title>
