We are using a Team Account and some of us have experience with other systems. The main thing we miss nearly evry hour is the lack of task IDs.
In documents, emails, phone talks, minutes of meetings we have to reference specific tasks. We e.g. want to say “task X will be deferred until task Y has been completed” or we want to put the task ID into the subject of an email.
With my old system I used to utilize this feature all the time. Now every time we want to reference a task we have to describe it which is complicated, time consuming and ambiguous.
Then of course there should be external links which allow to jump to a specific task directly.
Is something like this planned?
What do the other users think of this feature?
Thanks

Hello Heiner,
I will add this request to our requested features list. Part of what you are talking of is actually among the planned features e.g. chain tasks (a programable line of tasks where completing of one would trigger appearance of next one). Other aspects mentioned here by you are quite new. Thus I can’t really say how feasible they are.
Thanks for your answer.
It is obvious that the tasks have IDs internally so showing these IDs and providing URLs to jump to them directly should be quite easy to implement. Perfect it would be to have a settings-switch “show IDs”.
Thanks
Heiner
Heiner, the tasks do have identifiers but they look something like “UODNE81bAzD1h5I9”, so just showing them would not be enough.
For me it would help a lot to have such an ID.
“UODNE81bAzD1h5I9” certainly isn’t cuddly but it would at least give me a chance at all, to reference and link to tasks from in- or outside.
We’ll see what can be done. This is all I can say at this point.
Thx!
Is this really interesting for nobody except me?
