Is there a way to stop ‘who’s responsible:’ defaulting to YOU when you create a new task in a shared Project?
I’d rather it defaulted to ANYONE, and assign it when I want to.

Ohh…noted.
I have consulted on this matter. It seems that this setting has been changed not long ago to default to ‘you’. Michael has said that he will keep monitoring this matter.

I can see both sides of the issue, for some ANYONE works best and others YOU.
I think the best resolution would be a flag within the settings menu;
Default new tasks to YOU? Y/N
You get to keep both sides of the fence happy!

I have converted various of my clients to Nozbe and linked them up and appart from another issue, assigning tasks by the managers is slowed down a bit with this… and if you forget, nobody acts on it… please make the default an option for who it should go to.
Alternatively… let the default stick to the last choice… so If I am assigning 10 tasks to a member, then that part stays the same until I pick somebody new?
Looking at how we use it and how other companies use it we decided that making yourself as “default” makes more sense.
You can always choose to delegate to a different person. We’ll be implementing cool Drag-n-drop powered task delegation to Nozbe which will make this decision even more natural and help you manage delegation better. Stay tuned and thanks for your comments!
This SHOULD default to you, not “Anybody” because if it defaults to “Anybody” it shows up on everyone’s Next Actions list. If you have people creating dozens of tasks a day, and they are unassigned, it’s a mess. This is currently a problem with the mobile app on the iPhones/iPads. They DON’T default to the person creating them. It’s causing us lots of headaches right now. The behavior should match between all the apps.
