Maybe this is just me, but they way I work with GTD systems is a list of tasks for each day to do. Once the task is completed I check it. Ideally at the end of the day the list is empty.
Therefore it would be really useful to have an option to auto-hide completed actions so they don’t show on the list.
Comments:
Delfina, are you sure that the users want to to see what they have done?
It seems that you have this mindset that we want to see completed tasks, so they are shown everywhere, and also in Google Calendar even when they are completed in Nozbe.
As I see it, the whole point of GTD is to reduce complexity and information intake, and focus on actions. So why do we need to mess around with completed tasks? I suggest an option to auto-hide them everywhere. They should of course be archived in case we search for something specific.
Thanks
+1 Given that I can look at completed projects and actions, why leave them on the active list? I’d prefer they leave.

the ability to right click on the completed actions project at the bottom ofthe left hand part of the screen and see the last 10 completed actions or 5 – what ever number works – would satisfy both issues – allowing them to disapeer everywhere – while also making it easy to access things that we just clicked and did recently.
I like it just the way it is! I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing what I have achieved today, and it motivates me to do more.
Displaying the completed actions should be a user configurable option. I prefer to see only open items but I understand how some people prefer to see all.
On the IPad app they don’t drop to the bottom they stay right where I checked them
To clarify my above comment, they drop to the bottom when i check them in the next actions view, but I mark them done in the calendar view, when I switch back to the next actions view they have not moved to the bottom
I will pass this to our developer to check and fix.
I’m having a similar problem with them dropping down. And, on my iphone 4 when I click calendar they have never dropped so I get to scroll past Aug 2010 etc. to get to today’s items. Please fix as this is crippling the effectiveness. Same with Ipad.
+1 to RC’s comment. When they are complete, I want them GONE! Should be User Configurable!
Yes. Completed actions need to go away immediately. Repeat actions completed should advance to their next cycle.
I really want them gone/archived/not visable—and I think the user should be able to configure this. The whole point is to reduce clutter and leaving them in view creates a long projectlist that I must wade through to find the active projects
I actually like the way things are now, once the action is completed it goes to the end of the list and it changes color also. It’s really nice nice and doesn’t add to clutter at all IMHO
I would really like an option to hide completed actions. Even with them dimmed and at the bottom of the list, they feel to me like clutter. They also stay alive on my calendar (albeit, marked “completed”). If possible I would love an option to hide them.
Well Peter,
I can understand your point. Especially, in case of the iPhones (have that one) where with 20+ task it can be come really a bit cumbersome. I will pass this ti the developer and we’ll see what can be done.
I think the setting should be configurable. Take this into consideration:
1) Having a list of completed actions, according to literature, should provide a sense of accomplishment :)
This is true for me! Based on reviews here – a lot of people rather prefer to have a tidy list of actions. For those who want immediate disappearance, let them have it. But I like the current setup.
2) Disappearance should not be instantaneous (give it at least a couple of minutes) – BECAUSE – it’s easy to click on the wrong checkmark! Reverting the selection would be tedious if the action went directly to the completed actions of a certain project:(

Agree with Zlatko, would like tasks to stay visible in projects so that I can see what’s been done and what needs doing still, but disappear from next actions and context menus.
Also feel that they should stay visible for a while in case of mistaken completion
@Marisa and Zlatko. I can see your point. I’m also of the view that completed today should stay visible until the end of the day. As for the disappearing of them in NA view or context I will add it on to the list of requested.
Please allow us to select to hide a task as soon as it is complete, and please ad this feature to the android
Hello Artur,
The actions do get hidden/archived at the end of the day. As many users want to see what they have done, we have opted for drop-down feature. And this his how it happens. Once an action is completed it should automatically drop to the bottom of your list.
