GTD is an amazing book don’t get me wrong, but The Now Habit and Eat that frog are some significant tools to being productive, must reads!
Now that that is said, there is 1 feature that is not on Nozbe and iskilling me, and thats is “sub projects”.
Labels are confusing, buggy, and just don’t work efficiently.
Sub Projects are exactly what would help me stop feeling so confused, having 40 todos would now become 4-8 catergories. For example.
The Thompson Project-
Sub Project- Website Production
Next Action: Buy Domain
Sub Project- Marketing and Advertising
Next Action: Buy Ad Space
Or I could setup:
Top Priority
Medium Priority
Low Priority for folders, either way it would be organization in an organization tool, and should be the first thing this program should have. Working 2x as hard but finishing projects that don’t have any impact is a bad approach to working optimally. Sub Projects would help here.
Set it up like labels, maybe even have a drop down of the subprojects, to make everything nice and neat, maybe even sub-sub-projects? Please Consider this, it would keep me a nozbe customer for life.
Comments:
Sub-projects, sub-folders, sub-priorities and all sorts of hierarchy have been thoroughly duscussed here http://www.nozbe.com/gtd/forum/section-1/post-7437670/sub-projects
In short, sub-projects, etc are not going to be implemented. Why? Read discussion…
thats unfortunate. But Atleast consider looking at the labels, as they are very buggy, and almost useless, which it almost seems your team does on purpose. By buggy i mean if i make a new one, and complete that project, it no longer appears on any of my projects and i have to make a new one. Labels make things more confusing, if you kept the labels as a static fixture, and you could expand the label column as you clicked it. besides it being a dropdown box, if this was the case, i doubt no one would even care about the subprojects, and i would continue service.
@ishmael. Please do send us report to tech. Including the place where it occurs (on-line or any of the apps) if on-line please provide us with data on your browser and its version. Without such details and one or two examples of labels that caused issues we are really left in dark. Please do email us at support@nozbe.com . Thank you.
I just wanted to add, that Eat That Frog is hands down a better book than GTD, also the Now Habit with ETF is even better. GTD thinks that just by thinking of next action your going to be more productive. Prioritizing, and having a better mental attitude are the way to go. Whats the point of working 10x as much if your working on the things that don’t matter or have significant impact on your success or life. Prioritizing and good attitude are key to hard work, not a software. Hopefully Nozbe adds this obvious feature, or I will not be renewing my nozbe, and I urge you to read ETF and Now Habit, and find a better software as well. Sorry if that was too frank. But i promise you will enjoy those books, and the insight they give.
