iPhone App - files can't be viewed

Stephen Swindon   Friday, May 14

I can only seem to view the following file formats on the iPhone – Word 2003, PDF

Office 2007 format files don’t register as being viewable at all – it seems the file extension (.docx, .pptx) isn’t recognised. Excel 2003 (.xls) is not recognised and Powerpoint 2003 (.ppt) gives a viewing error. Any plans to fix these as this would be a very useful feature (and one that is claimed it has in the blog)?

Hello Stephen,

To be honest I have not seen any emails from your. I will note this issue to developers.

That’s odd because you replied to my email and said you would look at the issue.

Stephen,

Please do not misunderstand me. I cannot look at it myself, all iPhone matters are send directly to developer and it is them who will look at the matter. I’m sorry if I were unclear on my part.

I am finding the same thing. Files saved as eg .doc are fine, but .docx are not recognised. This is a bit of a pain as it means all files need to be ‘down saved’ and then would not be properly editable if necessary.

Delfina
Please could you chase this as it has been months since we asked about this. All Office documents etc from their last 2 versions are not viewable and this is not good.
