Evernote not syncing

Scott STEPHEN   Wednesday, March 17
Comments: 31

My Evernote items are not showing up in Nozbe.
Yes I have given Nozbe access to Evernote.
Yes I have made sure that the tags are the same in both apps.
Still nothing.
Any advice ?
Thanks,
Scott

Hello Scott,

Please make sure you have done all the steps in as viewable in the tutorial ( www.nozbe.com/extras). If you did and it still does not work I would like to ask you to email me at questions@nozbe.com and we’ll try to work out solution to your issue together.

:-)
Delfina 17 Mar 10 09:15

Hmm,

Did you click on the synchronizing arrows??? That was what I first forgot to do and as result my Evernotes did not show…

:-)
BRV_Service 18 Mar 10 21:33

@ Scott STEPHEN: tags are the same in both apps.

How u checked that? I recommend to be sure – copy Project name from Nozbe and Paste in name tag.

Did u?

:-)
Delfina 19 Mar 10 09:28

BRV is also right. If the tag(in Evernote) does not correspond exactly with your project name (in Nozbe) you will not see the notes.

Surcy Peoples 18 May 10 23:04

I am having the same problem.
My account has access to Nozbe.
Tags are the same. (Even copied project name from Nozbe and pasted in name tag)
Clicked green arrows.
Made sure note was in evernote web site and tagged correctly.
Unlinked evernote and relinked.
Cleared cache and cookies.
Restarted browser.
Tried different browser.
Any other ideas?

:-)
Delfina 19 May 10 06:59

Surcy please email me. We are seriously working on figuring out why this is happening to some users. Most do not have this issue but there are few that do and it is crucial to find common point and solve this

:-)
Delfina 21 May 10 10:59

as above. Please let me know if all fine now.

:-)
Surcy Peoples 22 May 10 01:06

I responded that it is still not working

:-)
Delfina 24 May 10 12:34

Yes, I read your email. I will keep my hand on the pulse of this issue.

:-)
Antonio Rodriguez Moral 25 May 10 20:42

Same issue here. My Evernote notes show up OK in my nozbe.com account but not on my iPhone app. This was working fine with the 1.0 app, but I think it started to fail when I switched to the 2.0 app.

:-)
Sara Delano Moore 25 May 10 22:53

I can’t get notes to sync from Nozbe to Evernote. I can go from evernote to Nozbe as long as the tag/project matches – just not the other way

:-)
Delfina 26 May 10 08:53

@ Surcy. Your notes should be there please do check.

@ Antonio. I’m not sure how the EN would appear on your Nozbe 1.0 application because it was not in that application. EN was added onto Nozbe way later then the Nozbe 1.0 apps was created. As for the Nozbe 2.0 iPhone application, it has been already mentioned a few times that EN integration is coming in one of the two updates that are coming soon. Therefore I would be totally shocked if it was showing on your iPhone application and I’m simply do not know how would it be possible for them to show on the old application.

@ Sara. Please email me at questions@nozbe.com, please include in it a few examples of the notes that synchronized properly and those that fail to. We’ll do our best to help you. Thank you

Bruce Thivierge 3 Jun 10 20:13

Nozbe appears to be case sensitivie related to the Evernote tag. It must match exactly. Problem I am having is I already have a tag in Evernote called “baseball” but my Nozbe project is called “Baseball”. Evernote will not let me add a new tag with the upper case, it keeps auto-correcting the tag to “baseball”.

Nozbe needs to eliminate the case sensitivity!

Bruce

@Bruce
I will note your problem to the rest of the team.

Mike Everett 5 Jun 10 02:06

OK so I pulled a really smart move and entered my user name incorrectly when the first dialog came up right after I created my new nozbe acct. Is there a way to go back and fix this?

:-)
Mike Everett 5 Jun 10 02:16

Disregard my last post, it looks like I have to do some experimentation with my tags because that was not what was preventing me from syncing.

:-)
Mike Everett 5 Jun 10 02:25

OK here’s what I found! Evernote will let you sign in with either your full e-mail address or you username (yes they are different). Iwas initially signed in with my full e-mail in evernote using the local app on my PC (Windows) and when I signed in through Nozbe to the Evernote web app I used my user name. I’m not sure if it is possible but it appears this situation caused some kind of conflict. I signed out of both the EN web app and the local EN app then signed back in using my user name (not e-mail) in both and now it syncs beautifully. Hopefully this is helpful and wasn’t just some crazy coincidence.

:-)
Delfina 7 Jun 10 07:44

Hi Mike,

I will certainly let our tech know. I have not clue on the technicalities, so I can’t say if it is only a coincidence, but it’s better we check on this. Thanks for follow up.

:-)
JoshK 8 Jun 10 01:24

Having a sync problem here too. Things have been working fine for months. But when I delete a note from Evernote (even emptying the trash), the note still shows up in Nozbe. And when I add a new Evernote with the proper tag, it doesn’t show up. It’s like Nozbe is tied to an outdated version of my Evernote database.

:-)
Delfina 8 Jun 10 09:00

JoshK did you use the green arrows to synch?

:-)
JoshK 8 Jun 10 17:09

Yes.

:-)
JoshK 8 Jun 10 17:10

And now, of course, everything is working fine again, since I randomly checked.

:-)
Michael Masin 9 Jun 10 17:47

I’ve been having this problem randomly. One thing that isn’t random is my contexts don’t link to evernotes that are tagged with a context. Example:

I created a new Evernote from a web clipping and tagged it “Read / Review” (context) and “Single Action Items” (project).

I created an action in the project (because I can’t see the evernotes in context) to return to the URL. The evernote is listed on the Single Action Items project page but not on the Read / Review context page.

To make it a more interesting; the evernote did appear on the context page twice as I was re-syncing and re-tagging trying to figure out why but it disappeared again both times.

Guys EN integration is not a simple matter and we are attending to each of your cases individually. Please email your EN concerns to our email in order to speed the process. the email is questions@nozbe.com.

:-)
Surcy Peoples 10 Jun 10 15:45

Guys, be patient with Delfina. Send her an email and (at least with me) she was very attentive and continued to work on my evernote issues until they were resolved. It did take a few days and I know how frustrating it is but she will get it fixed.

:-)
Delfina 11 Jun 10 07:39

Surcy thank you for your kind words, but let me correct you one one tiny point.. not me.. out tech guys ;-) anyway Yes it is best to email as (and I will be repeating myself) with EN we take each case separately into account. Overall persons having issues with EN integration are not a very large group in relation to overall Nozbe-EN population, but reasons for the issues vary from account to account.
That is why if you are having issues with them two synchornizing it is essential to email me at questions@nozbe.com. I might need to request from you sensitive informations like names of the notes or projects/tags, and I’m pretty sure at least half of you would prefer not to leave such info in a forum (at least I would not).

:-)
Frank 11 Feb 11 19:22

does the evernote to nozbe sync only work with a paid nozbe account. I am testing to see if I would upgrade.

:-)
Michael 12 Feb 11 22:49

I have a paid account and while I was previously able to sync with Evernote, the functionality’s not working right now. Anyone working on this or is it a single account issue?

:-)
Delfina 14 Feb 11 09:28

Michael,

Each of EN integrations failures is being looked at separately, as they are not that frequent at all. If your issue persists please email us at questions@nozbe.com. I’m quite confident you would not like to share e.g. names of your notes with other over forum, and this is one of the things I might have to ask you to provide in order to solve this matter.

:-)
Larry 22 Feb 11 14:47

I found that if I use only letters and spaces (no punctuation like – or ,) and keep the tags short, the sync works fine. Otherwise I had the problems described above.

:-)
Karma 31 Aug 11 01:08

Evernote sync not working consistently with me either.
