iPad application cost

I’ve been anxiously awaiting my new iPad to use Nozbe and was stunned you’re charging $15! Have you seen the quality of apps selling for $3.99? Take a look at NoteTaker HD. Nozbe should not be $15.

Hello Steven,

I will pass your comment to our developer.

Hello Steven. We’re aware of that – the similar apps like Things ($19.99) or Omnifocus ($39.99) are even more expensive, although we’ll be working with the app developer on a lower cost of the app. Meanwhile we can add you an extra month to your Nozbe subscription as a bonus for giving Nozbe for iPad a try.

Over next month we’ll be working on crediting folks who bought the iPad and iPhone apps with additional months of subscription to make up for their purchase if they decide to try Nozbe

@Steven

As an iOS developer myself, I always cringe at comments like this. Nowhere in my developer contract with Apple does it say I should look at what other apps charge, and base the cost of my apps on them. There are multiple factors that go into pricing an app, and no two apps are the same. Further, you don’t know what irrelevant factors might be driving down the cost of the cheap app you reference. If you don’t like the cost of it, then don’t buy it. If you only want to buy cheap fart apps for 99 cents or less, then do that.

Overall Im amazed at the great value iPhone/iPad/Android apps offer. A few years ago the equivalent Windows Mobile apps cost a huge amount more!

However… Im not sure of the validity of an extra cost for an app (or 2) to access a subscription based tool like Nozbe.

Overall I think Nozbe is slightly expensive as a subscription + iPhone app + iPad app combo, but it fits my needs better than the competition and is therefore worth the extra investment to me.

Also…there is a huge shared interest in having the firm survive and prosper. I for one would prefer to have you set a price that gives Nozbe the resources to steadily improve things. Heaven knows there are a million niches in the app world…premium price for a premium product is certainly one of them….
