Hello,
I love using e-mail to Nozbe, but it becomes a hassle when there are file attachments on the e-mail that I would like to send to Nozbe (as a cc: or bcc:).
I would like to suggest that, if an e-mail to Nozbe contains file attachments, those attachments automatically be appended by Nozbe to the appropriate Project as Files, and the e-mail as a Note (and/or Action, if bullet points are part of the e-mail).
This would save several steps – having to strip the file attachments from the e-mail before sending to Nozbe, then having to upload the files individually to Nozbe.
Thank you!
Comments:
Yes, this would be a very good feature!
This is the only thing holding me back from upgrading to a Team Version.
Agreed. This feature is a must and urgently needed.
This would be a giant benefit – please add!
I agree 100%. I believe this would make this app even more amazing.
I agree too, very good idea
Toodledo has this feature and so does vitalist. This will make nozbe a much more robust application. Maybe some of the time Nozbe principal spends writing blogs and giving interviews be spent on improving the product. The amount of effort needed to add a file, a feature not even available on iPad/iPhone due to lack of email file feature, makes this platform a lot less practical for project management away from office.
+1 In general, I find the email implementation has some holes…..I would love to have the subject line be the task, the body be the note, and the attached file be attached to the task. This would really, truly help bring Nozbe into a mission critical status for my organization.
I totally agree. Any feedback from someone on the Nozbe team on whether this is in the works? It would really change this from nice concept to really practical solution.
Has anyone tried a work round using Evernote?
Why not forward email to Evernote instead of Nozbe, using the @ and # symbols to define the notebook and any tags required. Add these to the subject line before forwarding.
With Evernote integration set up and the tags defining the project, the note will be visible in the Nozbe project and the files attached should also be included as a link in the note and can be either opened or downloaded.
I haven’t tested this extensively yet but it seems to work.
Using Evernote works, sort of, but not really. The thing is that Evernote notes live in their own little section of each Nozbe project. If you want to find a file in an Evernote note, you have to figure out which note it’s in, scroll down to the end of it, and click the link to the file.
Part of the beauty of Nozbe is that it has the ability to store files in their own place, and then link them to whichever tasks they are relevant to. That is one of the things that Nozbe brings to the table that is kind of unique in the PC project management world, in my experience. (There are a couple of tools on the Mac that can do this reasonably well.)
Pulling attachments out of emails would be just about a perfect way to deal with the issues discussed here, however.
1+ Email-attachments to Nozbe is a must-have!
Please foster our efforts to get the things done!
Just checking in….any progress on email attachments being added as a file to the Nozbe Project?
+1 And I totally agree with Merante: “I find the email implementation has some holes…..I would love to have the subject line be the task, the body be the note, and the attached file be attached to the task. “
you really need to work on thebemail integration.
+1 This would be a great help to me.
Roger that.
+1, +2 if you can add context to the file (hum… Read/review) ;-)
+1 again totally agree with Merante: “I would love to have the subject line be the task, the body be the note, and the attached file be attached to the task. “ This would require tasks to be able to hold files as well as projects I guess. Save moving the task and file separately from Inbox to desired project
+1 on the email attachment issue :)
+1 Just joined, but I would not upgrade until this feature not available
+1 Totally agree that this is a critical feature.
We had discussion on it with Michael and tech a few days ago and they agree with you that is should be made possible. They plan to work on this along with the emailing system as whole.
Delfina – thank you! This would be a great feature upgrade. (I just forwarded 2 e-mails to Nozbe that had attachments – it would have been great for the attachments to be automatically saved as Files!).
Here again Juan we’ll see what can be done. There is much talk around tech about the emailing as a whole. So hopefully they will introduce along with other things a change like that ;-)
cant wait till google Documents is integrated more so, it will make no reason to email anything as it will just be shared once and done.
Better still…..allow the Nozbe inbox to be treated as an imap email folder in our email packages, so we can just drag an email into Nozbe
great idea iburke
true … quite an interesting though there.
+1 excellent feature
+1 on Merante’s request: I would love to have the subject line be the task, the body be the note, and the attached file be attached to the task. This would really, truly help bring Nozbe into a mission critical status for my organization.

+1 COUNT ME IN
The last post is May 11 what happened to this idea. I’m pulling my hair out not being able to send images or PDF files. I spent a bunch of money upgrading to the team. Michael has a lot of people using this thing I hope you take some of that money and hire some good tech people that can solve this problem ASAP. Really this is becoming such a problem that I’m thinking of going back to netCentrex
Gary
Have to agree with Gary, this has been running for a while and is much needed.
I know the Nozbe team is busy with desktop apps and the Android app but could we please have a planned time for this?
I cannot believe this isn’t a feature. I didn’t realize it until today, after I upgraded my account and started moving files over. I would have never made the switch had I known this capability does not exist. Is there an update on the plan for this? It looks like your users have been asking for this for more than two years.
Yes Trent it is in plans for this year. All I can say that we at Nozbe miss that one very much as well… and we do understand the need for it.
I join this request. I have bunch of documents sent for review as attachments. It would be great to be able to upload them just by forwarding mail as a task.
