New Action with Parenthesis cuts off rest of action

Edgar Cayce   Wednesday, February 4

If I enter in a new action like

Do something (really) some more etc.

Everything after (really) is omitted when I save it. For some reason, having parentheses results in the text being truncated. Very frustrating.

I’ve found this too. Needs to be fixed.

The parentheses are used when you ant to enter the context or due time or next action directly without clicking afterwards in the fields.

Mathias: That’s the reason for it, but it’s still a bug. Same thing happens when you email tasks in.

I can understand it if I put “(D blahblah)” in my task. But I simply put a parenthetical comment, it shouldn’t be parsed that way. Not a high priority bug but still an annoying persistent bug.

For now, I just avoid parentheses like the plague and use hyphens.

Yep, it’s a bug that will be fixed now. I’ll keep you posted.

Apparently it has not been fixed yet. When I enter a new action like this “Text (text)” – interestingly – just SOMEtimes it is cut off and not at other times. So far I haven’t been able to find any regularity here.

I think the quotes might be designating a URL to create a link and if they aren’t followed by a colon there is a link without a description created.

So… visit http://nozbe.com makes here the linkable text but visit “(some text)” creates the link to (some text) but without clickable text. Just a guess…

Sorry, I should have typed that as visit [quote]https://nozbe.com[quote]:here. You can see it working above :)
