Guessing the year for due dates

Pedro Machado   Friday, December 17
Comments: 6

If creating an action with a due date of January 15 (no year specified explicitly) on December 16, 2010, the system should understand that we mean Jan 15 2011 (a future date). It currently creates the action with a due date in the past Jan 15, 2010.

I am not sure that the system is handling this situation correctly. Recently I have moved actions to week 2 or week 3 or week 6, hoping that Nozbe will interpret than to mean weeks in 2011, but what it did was to locate them in week 2 of the current month, or week 3 of the current month. I have written Michael to ask about this but have not received a reply yet. But it is clear that the system is not working as it should and hopefully with the new support team in place they will correct his quickly, before December ends.

I just submitted the same request to support.

The calendar function is a bit wonky – I’m not crazy about the numbered week system. Much better to have an actual calendar pop up where you can see an entire month and select a day if need be.

Some of you have written to us about it. I just want to say the issue is being worked on by our tech. For now I can only suggest typing ’20 jan 2011’.

I thought this was a feature, actually. Given how cumbersome it is to modify your workflow (i.e. type 2011), this incentivizes you to finish all your actions in 2010 in order to avoid the extra keystrokes.

:P

Hehe… you just made me smile with this one. If those additional key strokes seem likely to break your fingers.. sure this can be an incentive to get all done within less then 24 hours of 2010 that are still left ;-) Please do not take this as an offense… it’s just a silly joke.
