first of all its nothing more than a keyboard shortcut away from transforming an email into a task on a list with reference material behind it. – plus they have notes already by default like any organizer should have, ya know.
but the beauty of it is that while it is nothing more than a simple list that can be used for anything
it is smooth and seemless…adding a task and breaking it down into its subsequent subtasks is so seemless its beautiful.
i dont even have to take my finger off the keyboard.
and from what i hear google will add tasks to gcal eventually. – you know – events that you can essentially check off of a visual calendar interface that so many people love.
while i dont use it for very much – i admit latley its been a nice way to be more focused on certain things within my email account considering that the nozbe gadget in gmail isnt tied into keyboard short cuts and is less flexible in that sense.
first point – nozbe should team up here with its competitors to lobby google to make its tasks application to be completley open to theird parties.
why – well what if we could add task to google and have them show up in nozbe or any number of web apps.
this would be nice and seemless – i think the good route to do this through is to lobby to make taska more of a basic repository for everyones tasks inorder to create more competiton in the web app market by allowing people to move them around at will. ( sure i know michael wont like this, but there might be some sort of way to make it still freindly to up and comers as nozbe still is one of those apps begging for development)
the reason i suggest this is google is competing with the likes of outlook and what not which buissness have used for eons it seems – they are bound to keep developing this task manager within gmail to make it really useful considering its truly lacking
so the point of lobbying google with competitors: ability to open up web app market by to those who have yet to be touched by it. Gtasks acts as the first org web app that so many people are introduced to first – so by opening it up it allows 3rd parties to attract users of gmail all that much faster.
also – consider how smooth the gtask can be for converting from email to tasks straight away –
this should be an aim of nozbe in the long term – to easily and smoothly do everything
Comments:
Excellent idea.

+1 to Michael Hucke. Because it would be just more easy to get an Email into nozbe …
So is this google not creating an api that allows tasks to be synced by 3rd party apps? If so. How do we start campaigning? What is the best web app to develop a campaign to make this happen. Who are the leaders in the Nozbe group and trusted blog participants that would need to be contacted. I will forward the effort if somone will offer me contact information and the answers to above questions. Come on folks, let’s get a tool that really works.
talktotrey@gmail.com for all feedback please. I don’t check this blog regularly.

since i posted this originally, they finnaly came out with an api – now nozbe simply as to implement it
Sweet! Can’t wait until its implemented.
ACK – please make it possible to sync google tasks to a nozbe project. Workflow would be: make a mail to a google task – thats it. via sync this task is automagically beamed into nozbe.
in sync preferences it should be possible to have the google task planner assigned to one of your project.
