convert note to task?

Jeff   Friday, January 14

Hi.

I’ve got an idea for a feature and also just a workflow tip for those interested.

I’m using Mailplane for gmail. It lets me plug in a default Bcc address to go on all messages I create or reply to.

So I’ve plugged in my nozbe Inbox email there.

But unless I add the * and the task, it ends up just being a Note in nozbe instead of a task.

Most of my emails require tasks. I’m either telling someone I’ll do something or asking something that requires followup.

So… I’ve added a line to my signature that also automatically populates on new messages…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-John Doe
[* VERB the NOUN of the OBJECT]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With that in my signature, it reminds me to type out a short task there. And to keep it from looking odd if my clients see it in their replies, I usually do something like:

[* Re: project for john. Send the File for the Project etc]

So… that is my workflow tip and it works well for my purposes.

What I am finding though is that sometimes I either delete the task template or I forget to apply my signature or delete or something.

Somehow… the emails are not always converted to tasks, but instead show up as a Note.

So there’s a couple improvement ideas that I’m finding because of this workflow.

1. a button to convert a note to a task. This is mostly just as a safety net. For times when you accidentally get a note in there but it should really be a task.

2. It would help if there was a way to batch delete notes. I sometimes end up with 10 or 12 notes and the removal process is very slow. You have to open it and then scroll down and click Remove. But when you click remove, you then have to scroll back up and find the “Are you sure…” thing.

So just some thoughts and a tip.

Hope it is helpful.

-Jeff
