Hi,
I’ve linked my Google Apps Calendar to Nozbe and items appear in my calendar as expected. I’ve set my Nozbe calendar settings to email a reminder 10 minutes before a task is due. However, when I create a task with a due date and then view it in Google Calendar the reminder is set at 30 minutes. Any idea why?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
As pre my email to you. The reminders are set per default to 30 mins. Although we plan to make them more flexible, it will be a while before more options will be available. If you wish to disable them please go to your settings.
Thanks Delfina. It would be good if it could default to whatever I set the notification period to be in Google Calendar for the Nozbe calendar.
If I’m not mistaken this might become part of Emailine (but then again I’m not certain so I will add it to our suggestions) ;-)
Whenever I add a task with a date and no specific time, it automatically syncs with my Google Calendar and iPhone. The problem is when I do this, the 30 minute notification rings at 11:30 PM. I always leave iPhone notification rings turned, so this ends up ringing when I and my wife have already gone to sleep. This is quite annoying. I don’t want to turn the iPhone notification ring off, since I depend on this for my other times appointments. It is quite annoying having to reset notification on every task I add to Nozbe with a date. Sometimes I miss doing this and then I end up waking up my wife and myself. This is very inconvenient. Please Nozbe developers, try to address this soon. This is really becoming a limitation to me using Nozbe.
A suggestion would be to leave the 30 minute notification for tasks that have a time specified, but have no GCal notifications set for a tasks that have no time specified.
I think I answered my own question. Under Settings, Google Calendar, there was a flag for “Disable auto-adding reminders”. At first I thought this flag would disable syncing Nozbe with Google all together. However after testing it, I found this allows dated tasks to be synced with Google, without the default 30 minute notification being set. Perhaps it would be better to call this flag “Disable auto-adding 30 minute notification”. This would make it clear what the flag is for.
I could live with this for now, however I think as a future enhancement it would be good to have flexibility in how GCAL notifications are set for:
- Tasks with date and not time set
- Tasks with date and time set
Thanks
Further to this I’ve just received a notification (at 4:30pm) for a task that I’ve set as due for tomorrow (I didn’t give it a due time – just a due date). Any idea why it’s alerting me 7 and a half hours before the day the task is due?
If there’s a setting I’ve missed then I’d be very grateful if someone could point it out. If it’s a bug then it would be great if this could be fixed.
Thanks,
Andrew
