To the whole team at Nozbe, congratulations on the release of the first beta of the Windows app! I know how much work that was, and it looks great.

I’ll be using it over the days to come and will let you know what I think in more detail.

For those trying my windows client, I have posted my thoughts at http://wp.me/p1sDoL-33

I like it too.

Only thing is it seems I cannot delete projects. Haven’t tried deleting anything else yet.

When might the delete function be available?

Otherwise it seems like a great app.

Delfina 18 Jul 11 10:29

@Michael. Thank you.
@David. There are many things still missing in both desktop apps. WE’ll be bringing in the ‘meat’ in upcoming updates. I believe it will be 1-2 versions a month until fully stable.

Will the Windows client negotiate a proxy? Im struggling to sync from work…

:-)
Paul Krefta 18 Jul 11 14:32

David – we are going to add delete funcionality in nearest release.

Marcus – no, it won’t do such things. We are using standard internet security port to sync app – 443 so it should work without problems.

Ok, now were talking, more feedback….

Thanks Delfina, I’m ACTUALLY EXCITED about what’s happening.

Thanks Paul, nice to see another face from Nozbe. Aren’t you special enough to have a different color when you post…Like Delfina :-)

@Paul – I’m facing the same issue as Marcus. We use our proxy for SSL connections too. Therefore port 443 won’t work.

@David. I’m not sure why Paul does not show green ;-P he should as a part of Nozbe team
@Paul. I’m glad u dropped in. It is always better to have direct contact with our testers ;-)

Is it possible to amend the installer so that it can be installed without administrator rights. Problem for me on my work laptop.

Like the Windows client – a few points:

1) – the dates do not function correctly in the calendar. I have a over due actions for yesterday with “Today” as the date and I changed the date forward for an action due tomorrow and, although the date has changed it stays in the “Tomorrow” section.

2) – Prefer the buttons at the bottom of the Project / Context column to be at the top, over the Project / Context tabs. Easier to see and use here.

3) – I think the overall app needs more contrast. Bit too much grey

Other wise working OK. I’ll continue to use it and see what else I find but looking forward to the upcoming changes to see where it is going.

Keep up the good work

Hi Delfina – update on beta for Windows

I’m having to drop out the desktop program as I use the calendar as my main view and the dates are just not being kept up when I change them – bit of a mess.

I will try again when you get beta 2 out.

Very interested in the idea but it has to function as good as the browser app.

Hi,
I’m really pleased with the Windows application, incl functionality and colour scheme (subtle except for highlights such as stars).
I think I’ve found a bug (in Beta 1, I think) – I can’t view comments I wrote earlier. If I click on the speech bubble (which has a ‘1’ in it to indicate 1 comment), a new comment window pops up. I have to switch to the web interface to view the comment.
Keep up the good work!
Paul

Delfina 25 Jul 11 11:20

@Paul. That is not a bug.. simply missing feature. I have the same on mine. It will be added this months of what I know.

Paul Kaye 25 Jul 11 11:52

Ah, ok. Thanks for responding.

If it doesn’t take much time, it would be great to be able to identify which version of the Windows client (even which of the Betas) I’m using, so I know whether to upgrade.
Could you also explain how to upgrade? i.e., should I just download & install the latest version? Do I need to worry about losing any data (assuming I’ve synched with the web)?
