Calendar

I’d like to be able to plan further than 2 weeks using a monthly calendar view. A 2 to 3 months out calendar view would be even better.

I’d also like to be able to see a visual day view – with hours (much like the day view in Outlook).

Using the “visual day view” I can block out time based on the length of the task and have a quick view and reasonable idea about how much I can get done in the day.

In addition, I’d like to be able to drag and drop tasks through various hours in the day and/or bump the task forward to the next day (or to the next available time slot in the future) if I can’t get the task done.

I tend to have more to do that is actually doable in a day. Being able VISUALIZE this on a calendar (like for a full month or full 3 months), then I can plan better about what I can accomplish and what absolutely needs delegated.

It would be even better, if, in the month view (or 3 month view) each calendar day would show the total number of hours already “used” by the tasks that have assigned to those days.

I really, really, would love to have a more visual mapping of these task lists.

Is this on the horizon?

Hello Natalie,

I will certainly add your idea as a feature request. I can’t tell you if it will come about but some changes to calendar are being considered.

Natalie, to some extent, you can do calendar planning using Google Calendar.
Nozbe and Google Calendar syncing is almost perfect – actually, I’ve never seen app, implementing two-way synchronization with GCalendar in real time. Set up calendar parameters – date and, optionally, time – to the task you are working with, then switch to Google Calendar – and you can drag, drop, edit, move task, set up additional parameters. Then switch back to Nozbe, and you’ll see everything updated according to changes you did in GCalendar.
Saying that, I really don’t see any urgent needs to add extended calendar functions to Nozbe core, since many of them already implemented using “plugin” architecture.

Not everybody uses Google Calendar!

p.s. Personally, I’m trying to migrate AWAY from Google…

some sort of visual countdown to certain appointments in our calander like meetings etc can provide us more awareness of what we can do and how much time we have left to do it. it also keeps us focused by making us aware of our time

Mashup approach by Nozbe is a huge advantage over in-house development of monolith swiss army knife.

Nozbe incorporates one of the best calendar (with many visual bells and whistles), excellent notes, clips, bits, pieces and whatever-else storage (evernote), very nice files storage (dropbox). All these give me ability to apply core Nozbe functionalty to my existing infrustructure, which existed for tens of years, without export/import/copy/paste headache. I can’t overestimate such sort of integration.

Well, I can’t insist my view is suitable for everyone, and just pointed out my key criterias.
