I have stated this before, but today it is REALLY bugging me…
Why are the NOZBE interface designers using “grayed out” icons (like settings, Account, help, etc) when the icons are actually LIVE and should be clearly indicated as active.
I was trying to help some staff get started with Nozbe today and had told them to use icons in upper right for configuration and they said they didn’t even think they could use them “BECAUSE THEN WERE GRAYED OUT!”“ grrr!!
What possible reason do the GUI designers have to ignore years of GUI conventions that users clearly expecty i.e. dark icons are ACTIVE and GRAYED icons are INACTIVE?
There is no CASE you can make for “beauty” here that is more important than confusing users…please drop the “artsy look” and follow decades of GUI convention…there’s more than enough going on with Nozbe without needlessly confusing users.
