Hi!
I’ve come to appreciate systems for maintaining and developing habits – regular activities that help you fulfill your long-term goals and make you more productive.
Usually, “habits” are regular activities and defined on a weekly basis (more seldom on a monthly basis). Some examples are:
- rise early (everyday)
- exercise (three times a week)
- check the Nozbe forum (two times a week)
There is (web) software already available for tracking habits (like the simple www.joesgoals.com). Also, there are templates for tracking habits available for print.
In general, a “habit tracker” is a matrix where rows represent “habits” and columns that correlate with days in the week (or month). Each day you put a checkmark in the appropriate cell if you accomplished a habit and at the end of the week you can review your weekly result! Of course, computer supported habit trackers offer statistics.
I think it would be a great addition to have a “habit tracker” integrated with the “Calendar” facility of Nozbe!
In the weekly list of actions, a habits matrix for that week could be shown and one could easily put a checkmark for an accomplished activity.
The visual representation of a habit tracker is far better than having an action that repeats everyday.
