Today’s announcement is not about an additional platform or device… but I’m actually more excited about it than anything else. This one single feature will take your project collaboration in Nozbe to the next level.
Introducing Email Notifications
Sharing projects in Nozbe is easy. However, when you’re working on many projects with many people, it’s really hard to keep up who’s doing what. Internally we had the same problem. Our team grew from 3 to 9 and amount of projects we shared together more than tripled. It was hard for me to click through all of these projects every day and I actually shouldn’t be needing to.
Many of our customers reported the same thing. You wanted easy notifications to know what’s going on in your Nozbe projects without having to click through to Nozbe every time.
Now you’ll be receiving beautiful Email Notifications like this one:
How do Email Notifications work?
In the projects you’re sharing with other people Nozbe is logging everyone’s activity and then it’s gathering this data and sends it to you to keep you in the loop. Here are some key highlights:
1. Email is sent every hour or not at all

Nozbe’s job is to help you get things done. That’s why it values your time and won’t be sending you an email when anyone adds just an action to a project you both are sharing. Twitter and Facebook do that and send all these notifications. (Nozbe tip: you should unsubscribe from these right away :-)
Every hour Nozbe scans through the logs relevant to your Nozbe account and if it finds any, they will be sent to you. If nothing has happened (like everyone in your team was asleep), you won’t receive an email. This means that on a busy day you’ll see an email from Nozbe as often as once an hour but not more often.
2. Email has direct links to your actions, comments, notes and files
Every piece of information in your Email Notifications not only tells you what just happened but also has a unique address that you can click to act on it right away. John just posted a new comment? Click to reply right there:
As you can see, Email Notifications have great icons to visually see who did what. It’s really easy to quickly capture the essence of what’s going on.
3. Email Notifications are enabled by default for everyone
We believe the Email Notifiations will be the most useful feature for anyone working collaboratively with others, so we enabled them for everyone in every Nozbe account.
We just can’t understand why you’d not want to receive these. However, if you want to unsubscribe from them, just go to “Settings” and “Email Notifications” and uncheck the box.
I think it’s going to be a game-changer for many companies and teams
Over the last month we’ve seen a steady increase in Family and Team account signups. Many folks discovered that they can share lots of projects with others and work together to get amazing things done. Now with Email Notifications collaboration will be a lot more fun and definitely more effective.
Ask people around for help!
You don’t have to do everything yourself. I bet that there are many people around you that will want to help you get things done. Share projects with them or invite them to your Family or Team account. With new Email Notifications, everyone will stay in the loop and will help each other achieve great things.
I really believe with Email Notifications we’ve lifted project collaboration to a whole new level and I’m sure you’ll notice a significant increase in productivity and motivation among your peers.
