Today we have two great announcements:

Why are we giving away Nozbe.mobi’s source code? Because it’s 100% based on our Nozbe API and we want developers to see how easy it is to build on Nozbe API. We want people to create greater applications and uses for Nozbe!

New productivity web application is giving away source code and celebrates one-month anniversary.
June 21 2007 – Apivision.com, creators of Nozbe, a web application that helps people get more done and improve their personal productivity, announced today that they will distribute their recently-launched mobile version of their application (Nozbe.mobi) under the GPL open-source license.
Launched officially a month ago, Nozbe has been nicknamed as “Backpack for GTD (Getting Things Done)” by productivity bloggers and industry experts in its early beta days back in February this year. Marc Orchant of Office Evolution wrote: “new GTD web app that keeps it simple… when I saw Nozbe, I smiled.”, Lifehacker recommends Nozbe as the web application for GTD: “Nozbe is a solid online organizer specific to GTD .” and Judi Sohn of Web Worker Daily described Nozbe as “GTD at its essence”.
Released last week, Nozbe.mobi has been welcomed very warmly by thousands of users as it gives them a possibility to access their tasks and notes when on the move using any mobile phone. “We are constantly seeking new ways to make Nozbe more accessible and productive for our users. Quick and responsive user interface and innovative printing support was just a start, now we wanted to celebrate our one-month anniversary by giving our users a sleek mobile version of our productivity tool and a full Nozbe API” said Michael Sliwinski, founder of Nozbe.
“Since Nozbe.mobi is already based on the API – we decided to go a step further and give away all of the source code of our mobile web application to show our users and 3rd party developers how easy it is to use our API and create GTD mashups and browser extensions for Nozbe.”
The full documentation of Nozbe API and the Nozbe.mobi source code can be found here:
“Publishing an API is essential for any web2.0 application but many APIs are “dead” as they are never actually used by 3rd party developers. What is an app’s API worth without mashups?” asks Michael Sliwinski, “We decided to create our first API mashup – Nozbe.mobi – mobile version of our web application – and give away a part of our secret – the code.”
