Nozbe for iPhone submitted to the Appstore. Let's wait patiently now...

After the last tests and checks we submitted the Nozbe app to the Apple Appstore. Now we’ll have to wait for their approval (usually takes 1-2 weeks). Hope they’ll accept it straight away. Here’s the status:

Hope you are as excited and anxious as I am… can’t wait to have it listed!

Meanwhile I’m preparing a short guide of the app to give you an idea of how it works. I should post it soon.

Today I’d like to preview two small, but I think great features we have in the app that make adding stuff to Nozbe a blast:

“Power” add button and “Quick” add button

Just have a look at the entire menu on the bottom of the app:

The first button brings you back to Home menu, wherever you are and the second to “Next Actions” section… and the third is the sync.

Now about the fourth and the fifth button.

“Power” add gives you a possibility to choose what you want to add (action, note, project, context)

The second one, the “Quick” add is an intelligent button, because normally you can quickly add an action with it… but it changes its behavior depending where you are.

If you are in the “projects” section, tap on this button to create a project. If you’re in a “contexts” section… yes, you guessed it – it prompts an “add a context” form.

Are you excited? I am!

Let’s hope Apple will not take too much time and will not create any problems during the review so that we’ll can play with the app ASAP.

@Dominik @Jacek – dzięki chłopaki, nawet nie wiecie ile dla mnie znaczy Wasze wsparcie! :-)

Guys thanks for the heads up.

Update: There is a point where the app crashes and we’re fixing it now, the Appstore guys are very responsive, we should have the fix on Monday and we’ll submit the new binary and it should be app in Appstore in no time. I just want the app to get in… but there are always these small bumps on the road… but we’ll make it :-)

:-)
Bjørn Børresen 2 Feb 09 14:26

good to hear that the appstore guys are treating you well :-)

:-)
Michael 5 Feb 09 11:04

Yes, they are. Now we’ve submitted the app again this Monday… and haven’t heard anything wrong with the app… so here’s to hoping that we’ll have the app in the appstore now without any delays ;-)

Its in the Canadian App Store! I just downloaded it! Woohoo! Run, don’t walk, to your App Store!

It looks great! Congratulations!

I’m off to set it up and try it out!

Eduardo Oliveros 6 Feb 09 12:00

yes, it’s available and is Friday.. I’m happy. :) (hmm!, app store is not working @#%&$!!!) congratulations Michael!!.

:-)
Michael 6 Feb 09 14:26

Yep, it’s in the Appstore! Today I got the happy email from Apple and later found it in my Appstore and installed it “officially”.

Will announce it on the blog later today :-)

:-)
G 6 Feb 09 14:55

Woohoo!!! Its in the US store also, installed it, and within about 1.5 minutes all of my data synced to it! Beautiful app Michael…..thank you to you and the team for great work. It was well worth the wait. I just need to play around with it more to understand adding tasks vs what they are associated with…

:-)
Peter Schaufuss 6 Feb 09 15:04

Downloaded from the Danish store – it’s great.

Found one problem – it does not seem to update completed tasks FROM the iPhone TO nozbe.com

I haven’t testes a lot, but one of my tasks that I marked completed on the iPhone and then synces still appears as not completed online.

The other way it works fine so far.

:-)
Peter Schaufuss 6 Feb 09 15:09

Update – did some more testing.

It does not seem to update AT ALL from the iPhone to nozbe.com :(

I created a new next action on the iphone and synced, but it never shows up online.

Again, going the other way works fine.

:-)
Peter Schaufuss 6 Feb 09 15:11

Also deleting an action on the iPhone does not delete it online – again other way works fine.

:-)
Erick Crowell 6 Feb 09 16:02

Hello, I also installed the iPhone App today. Thanks for “Getting This Done” for us! One request …

Please add the ability filter my ‘next actions’ by context. I add ‘context’ to my actions so I can remember the things I need to when I’m in ‘context’.

The current app only lists all my next actions together in one giant list. Which doesn’t help me when I’m ‘shopping’ and need to access the list of next actions associated with that context.

Am I the only one who used Nozbe in this way?

:-)
Eduardo Oliveros 6 Feb 09 17:16

@Peter, I have the impression that this happens when you are changing things at the same time on the web and on the iPhone.

:-)
Erick Crowell 6 Feb 09 17:30

I have created a test task using the iPhone App, synced it and successfully verified it with Nozbe on the web.

:-)
Halm Reusser 6 Feb 09 17:39

Same problems as Peter.., may be a time shift issue?

:-)
G 6 Feb 09 18:18

I was having the same problems. For whatever reason it is working now. I can create on the iPhone or make changes, sync, and they are reflected on the web. I’m happy! :)

:-)
Wayne Drinnen 6 Feb 09 18:22

Success, Michael. Many Thanks!!!!

:-)
Peter Schaufuss 6 Feb 09 19:01

Still not working for me.

Only changing on the iPhone.

One item did work when I marked it completed on the iPhone – but when I tried removing the checkmark again (un-complete) and sync it stayed completed online.

Another item didn’t change online at all.

So something is definitely not running 100%

:-)
Michael 7 Feb 09 04:39

Peter, we are monitoring syncing activity for possible errors so hopefully all will be flawless and working great for everyone.

Please post your experiences on the forum and we’ll try to help you out there or just contact our customer support.

Thanks for your support guys! It’s been a great and revolutionary day for us!

:-)
Steve 9 Feb 09 16:27

Brilliant I was losing faith – but it’s back.

I agree being able to filter next action lists by context would be good, I use it that way.

Also adding more actions than one at a time separating them with a “return”. You can do this (and I do all the time) on the web app. Its a really good and quick mind dump. having to post all actions singularly is a pain. But good v1.

:-)
George C. Yang, M.D. 10 Feb 09 16:25

Hi Michael,

Nice app. One suggestion. I would like to see a red number on the Nozbe icon showing how many Next Actions are left. These red indicators are good prompts which makes me want to “check them off” like for the emails, phone, or SMS. I have one other iPhone App GroceryIQ which will list how many things are on your grocery list, so I don’t forget to use the app.

Thanks for your hard work.
