(2-Minute Productivity) I Phone People in my Car - Episode No.7
Michael
Wednesday, September 3
Comments: 5 Today is wednesday so it’s time for another episode of the 2-Minute Productivity Show. Today let’s talk about phoning.. or iPhoning when being stranded in a car in a traffic jam: Enjoy! (And let me know in the comments how are you productive with your phone or iPhone?). BTW. Thanks for the questions and for the heads up on the iPhone native version. We’re relly busy developing it and I’ll post more screenshots next week. Technorati tags: nozbe, gtd, iphone, phone, car, traffic, jam Comments:

Michael the only thing I would add to this training is that it’s generally not a good idea idea to talk on your phone when you are driving, whether you use hands free or not. Your eyes, ears and attention should always be on the road at all times. If you’ve pulled off the road somewhere or if traffic is standing still then it would be okay, but not when you are moving. Thanks!

My heart skipped a beat for a moment when I saw “I Phone…” Can’t wait to see how that project come to fruition!

@Jim Gaus OK, maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I was talking more of a traffic-jam situation. I live in a big city and when I move around I very ofen get cought up in a traffic jam and then instead of getting frustrated (and growing in this frustration with everyone around me) I decide to be productive and start scanning my @Phone context and start calling people and enjoy the traffic-jam.

I cannot agree more that a traffic jam is a perfect place to get things done by phone. I might have something for the wishlist related to this: As I do not (yet) use an iPhone, I rely on the Nozbe mobile version (for Windows Mobile) which I use on my HTC 730. It would be great if I could dial a phone number from the action text field by just clicking on it. In my current set up (Nozbe mobile via IE on Windows Mobile 6 stnd.) I can not get this to work. Any tips (besides buying an iPhone)on realizing this or is this a true wishlist item? Thanks in advance. Rob

Great training Michael as always. I also use Jott to send tasks from the iPhone to my Nozbe account, so I don’t have to type and I get many ideas I like to save while driving so it is much safer and I get them into Nozbe so I don’t lose them, and have peace of mind knowing they are there when I need to do them later. This brings up another idea for the native Nozbe app. If possible, make sure that correctly formatted telephone numbers can be dialed by tapping the number as in the Apple apps for iPhone, and perhaps email addresses too can start a new message. Thanks and keep up the great work. John
