Sync your Dropbox files with Nozbe projects on the web, iPhone and iPad to get more done!

Last week we announced new iPhone and iPad apps with Dropbox support and now the time has come to announce the Dropbox sync on the web as well!

Now you can browse your Dropbox files related to the project you’re working on easier than ever. No need to scan your hard drive to find all the related info, it’s all there – in your Nozbe project (or context).

How Nozbe and Dropbox integration works

1. Just go to any project and scroll to your “Dropbox files” button

2. Click on the button and authenticate with your Dropbox account

3. Voila! Your Dropbox files related to your current project or context will show up automagically!

How this integration works?

Nozbe scans your Dropbox account for files and folders that contain the name of your current project or context. For performance reasons Nozbe scans only up to 2 levels of your folder structure. When a file with the project name in it is found it will be displayed. When a folder with this name is found, all of its contents will be displayed, too.

Example above: If I have a project called “home” and I have a files like: “home.pdf”, “home-decoration.doc” they will be found. If I have a folder called “home-related-stuff” this folder will also be found and all of the files from this folder will be displayed. In other words – Nozbe will try to find all of your home-related files in your Dropbox account.

How the integration works in the iPhone or iPad app

The same way as on the Web app:

1. Go to any project and click on the Dropbox icon
2. Authenticate with your Dropbox account
3. Initially you won’t see any files as the app will scan through your Dropbox account
4. And finally you’ll see your project-related files and you’ll be able to view them right there on the iPhone:

Evernote + Dropbox + Nozbe = GTD Power Unleashed!

Now your best note-taking application and best file-storage application together work with your best getting-things-done application giving you amazing power to do great stuff. Go create :-)

Thanks so much for your feedback, I’m so happy Nozbe gets so much better with your constant support and encouragement! Hope you’ll be able to get even more done with Nozbe now!

Is there anyway to manually attach drop-box files? My file structure is more than two layers deep so nothing is automagically picked up

This is very nicely done. I appreciate your effort in putting this together. Now I can find everything for each project with very little effort. One suggestion, would it be possible to develop a viewer for the Web App for files in Dropbox?

:-)

It would also be great if you could Edit Evernote and Dropbox files directly from the Nozbe applications. Just another suggestion as it would save alot of time.

Thanks everyone for the heads up! Now we need a couple of weeks to see how you’ll love it and what’s missing and we’d be happy to iterate based on this.

@Siobhan – strange, contact support and maybe we’d be able to help.

Great job, keep up the momentum to make Nozbe the best GTD tool on the marked

Love it- really ties my 3 favorite web apps together

Hello! This page says that Nozbe will scan not just for the project name but the CONTEXT as well. I have a context called “Work” and a top-level folder in Dropbox called “Work”, but it doesn’t find my files in my Work folder.

:-)
Caryn Vainio 28 Jul 11 02:20

Oh, I see, it only scans that if you click on the context. Nevermind!
