And we used to be just Three Musketeers...

This has been a very busy month for us. We’ve assembled a great team to take Nozbe to an entirely new level as we are on our path to make our app the default productivity app in the world for busy professionals and their teams who want to get things done.

Next month
Next month we’re launching a better mobile version, Android app and hopefully near-full offline support for the main web app, as well as many localized language versions.

We grew this month… a lot
To achieve all this we had to start hiring more and we started mid-October and ended this crazy hiring spree one week ago with a team as large as a football (soccer) team of 11 people (including yours truly).

What started as a side project 5 years ago…
I built Nozbe initially as an app just for me and when I realized how effective and helpful this app can be for my productivity purposes, I decided to show it to the world (read the whole story in our first blog post)

...continued to be one-man shop for more than a year
When Nozbe launched it was just me running it. One year later, after a great success of our iPhone web version Nozbe became my full-time project yet I was still running it completely on my own.

...and then there were Three of us
Later in 2008 I finally took the plunge and hired two key people to join my team – Delfina – very energetic and smart woman to help me with Customer Support and Marketing and Tomasz – genius programmer to help me with the development of Nozbe code (and he took it to the next level with Nozbe 2.0 launch)

...and there were Three Musketeers running the show
It was pretty much three of us running the entire company for the years to come. In the meantime we did hire help for Nozbe 2.0 launch (Michael Saganowski and Maciek Saganowski), we partnered with a great company who helped us build our fantastic iPhone and iPad apps (Macoscope) but we remained just three as our “Nozbe Core Team”. Many people couldn’t believe that you can run a successful web company with tens of thousands of active users by a team of just three people. We like proving people wrong :-)

...and we’ll still keep it lean and small
We just need more “horsepower” to continue Nozbe’s rapid development. We have a great momentum now at Nozbe and want to make it even better (it’s all thanks to you and your constant support!).

The Three Musketeers remained our three pillars of the company as we started building a team around Tomasz (development) and around Delfina (customer support and marketing). I’ll be introducing all of them to you over the months to come as I’ll be showing off their work on this very blog.

...I’m proud and happy!
We spent most of October and November integrating and building new teams, spreading the work and setting up new processes in the company. I’m really happy with the results and you’ll see them as soon as early December in action. Nozbe is a mature product now with great following and amazing users and customers and we’re happy to be able to serve you even better now.

Sounds like you guys are on a roll! Congratulations.

I’m especially excited about the Android app! Do you have any specific release date scheduled? I know it’d be a great Christmas present… ;-)

Yes, great to see the “global” focus and please know that your hard work in development (and communicating with your fan base) is appreciated. I’ve tried them all, and Nozbe is the one that “thinks the way I do.” Your continued focus and commitment to this product is great!

Thanks guys for all the support and kind words. It’s been an exciting time for us to expand our team and start taking Nozbe to the next level. The global focus and Android/Blackberry apps are just the beginning! Nozbe is doing better than ever and we want to capture the momentum and ride our wave to make sure more and more people get things done the easiest (and more inter-connected) way possible. Thanks again guys, you really, truly rock!

Here’s one more guy looking forward to the Android app. I’m trying out Nozbe and 2-3 other competing GTD software and one of my criteria is a nice Android app. I bought the unofficial one which is okay but interested to see how your app looks.
