After two weeks we’ve tested beta5 a lot and we’ve listened to your feedback. The new beta fixes many things (small bugs mostly) as well as fixes problems with foreign languages like Japanese where the input would add a task after each “enter” pressed.
New Search engine
The desktop features search engine that quickly lets you find the actions and projects you want:
Download beta6 today!
Windows version of Nozbe beta6
More goodies soon!
We’re currently working on several things, among others, bringing you the project editing features, seamless sync (it’s going to work like magic!) – now sync is still manual (i.e. you have to click sync to do it) and many other features. Stay tuned, we’re almost there!

Where can I find completed actions?
Looks great! Calendar still seems buggy. Desktop client shows Overdue projects that I have already moved to new dates. Also, projects with due dates of “this week” or “next week” are not appearing as due on desktop.
So far I’m really liking it! Just a couple of things I suggest. Adding drag and drop like we have in the web app so that we can easily move items to projects. I don’t see a way to move notes. (Here’s another place where drag and drop could help, you could drag and drop it right into a trash can.) Also would be nice to see completed actions. Lastly, the capability to add multiple actions as in the web app.
Thank you!
Actually one more idea, which applies to both the web app and the desktop program: the ability to select several tasks at once and then drag and drop all of them into a project or context. Thanks!
Hello guys, thanks for the heads up – had to upload newer versions of the app as there was a bug in “due date” bubble. Please download again.
I’m really sorry for this, we haven’t noticed this bug when testing! Thanks so much for your support
It is improving. I would still like to drop and drag to a calendar. Also when I click on the date, nothing happens.
Posted this just as you sent your update. I will give it another go. Thanks
Unrelated, but have to say it: Nozbe needs very much two things: location aware contexts, so that you receive alerts whenever you get close enough to a spot and integration with the amazingly simple and efective OurGroceries. :-)
Hi, Great I’m downloading a new version!. BTW Do you plan to add ability to synchronize a nozbe calendar with MAC iCloud Calendar?
Cool, I`m going to install this.
Couldn’t get it to work on XP SP3. “This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installare package.”
I am unable to increase font size on my HD monitor. Using XP latest service pack. Using XP for some legacy games I haven’t finished, Have Vista and Windows 7 on other units. Would like to use Nozbe on the XP equipment.
Postscript: On my screen the font is too small to be practical. If I cannot increase font size I may not be able to use Nozbe on my desktop.
is there a way to set the syncing preferences? How often does it sync by default?
I’m finding the files preview, the web preview, and the notes preview to be altogether useless. It restricts viewing to a tiny window, and doesn’t seem to offer any way to connect to the link, open the file directly, etc. This is not helpful. If I only get a teaser view, it has to offer to open the linked item somehow.
Where to send my feedback or suggestions?
When I open it in Windows 7 Pro, it shows up as being open on the task bar but the window itself never opens up as an active window. I can glide over it and see the mini “preview” of it, but it will not open on the screen. Anyone else?
Same here Dorick – Windows 7 Pro – task bar has mini preview but the app window is not visible anywhere….
When I try to open it I get a message saying “are you sure want to open this app from an unknown publisher” If I click on it the app opens but it’s annoying that it happens every time. Thanks
Thank you for the updates. I appreciate all of your efforts.
In the final version, I am hoping to be able to add multiple tasks at one time (like the webapp).
Dorick and Brian I am having the same issue. I uninstalled the old version (which as working) installed the new one and all I can see is the icon – it will not even open no matter what I try
Hi
It looks pretty good (beta6), I’m tempted into moving away from Things to Nozbe because of the desktop app. One thing that’s bugging me is the “add” button in inbox. It’s in a really odd place… it’s as far away from where you’d focus when you first landed at the task list as it could possibly be, but it’s also the most-used feature and should be more promenant. It has no keyboard short-cut, which makes it harder-still to get a grip on. I think that’s weak usability and counter to the essence of GTD tools in general.
I’ll accept i’m over-sensitive to this: I have bad eyesight and use a screen zoom tool all the time, so I generally only see onscreen what’s near my cursor, but I think the “close to the point of most usefulness” is a general usability rule. Most of the rest of the interface does follow this rule, it’s just really odd the “add” button doesn’t.

Please, make windows application ‘minimize to tray’.
Dorick/Brian/Paul – I had the same problem, please, try: ‘right click’ on preview, then select ‘maximize’ and it should appear as a full screen. then adjust window manually.
thanks pikus – that did work.
Michael, it’s looking great! Thank you for the new update!! Loving this app, the site, the iPhone app, the iPad app, etc…use all of them all the time.
In my Windows 7 64 bit, it shows up in the task bar, but I cannot see the actual window.
I use Nozbe with a team. Tasks which are assigned to myself can not marked finished in the desktop version?
How do i assign multiple people to a task ?
Request error: null
Cannot log in still. Using XP
same error as Andrew in XP.
In my Windows 7 64 bit, it shows up in the task bar, but I cannot see the actual window… same as Ray Anderson
Looks really good in beta 6. Can give it a test now that the proxy support is added. For anyone struggling with getting the proxy to work, use format http://username:password@proxy.ip.address:proxyport, e.g., http://JoeBlogg:CleverPassword@191.168.1.1:80 and that works.
Proxy support is much needed, but it isn’t working for me. Mine doesn’t require a username or password, and I don’t know how to identify the IP address for it. My proxy looks like www-proxy.us.companyIworkfor.com, port 80.
this release like the previous one simply doesnt work in win 7
I agree, sadly this doesn’t work in Win 7 :(
Perhaps my problem is that I’m on Win 7, rather than being a proxy issue….
Just as Nozbe is moving ahead with great new enhancements, there’s scientific validation of the Getting Things Done method developed by David Allen, and embodied so elegantly by Nozbe. I write about it in my blog: http://www.exuberanteclectic.com/2011/11/science-of-getting-things-done-allens.html
Nozbe rocks!
I am on Win 7 and two things
1. The status on the projects panel says I have 3 projects and there are only 2
2. I cannot edit or remove comments from a task
First, I like the app, I use it every day… just a “feature” recommendation: it’d be great if you can cut&paste from the comments.
great work!
Ability to use contacts – even if only list made in Nozbe – would be extremely powerful. How can you manage projects without people’s info you need to work with or communicate to?
worked with Beta 6 more, some comments didn’t seem to make list:
1. Like Left to right “flow” and expansion, but how is new user to know “clicking” text will expand? should have icon indicate drill down
2. Left side – Gray text on darker gray background is really illegible and un-useable fix it ASAP
3. Add button is completely wrong place, hard to find/use needs to be top right or near window
4. Right Side Task window change Gray and white text on Dark Gray to be like center text, keep framing border dark, but white text against black on many screens is not legible
5. Exit/Quit button lower left is counter intuitive to 90% apps today why place it here?
6. Drop downs on tags for project/date/context/etc are nice and with darker border would still be nicely contrasted over light background/black text comments.
If want desktop to be used, need to match all functions of web app, not just some.
Strike suggestion 1, “finger” pointer is probably enough, but I prefer web triangle drill down to it.
Looking forward to the clean desktop version. But beta6 sync does not seem to be working at all. It does not reflect the updated data from the webbased version or the iPad version.
BTW, I agree with the comments that I have seen in posts about trying to keep the user interface as similar as possible between the platforms. I am constantly bouncing back and forth between my computer, iPhone and iPad – and honestly, the iPhone app is often the easiest to get into and get the info that I need. I’m looking for similar qualities in the other platforms/apps.
Keep up the good work!
One more quick thing… I really utilize the filter capability on the “Next Action” view on the web version. +1 on making that feature universal to the different platforms/apps.
yes drag and drop and erase comments – i like to remove unnecessary stuff, i want the interfaces across platforms to kinda behave somewhat the same way,,,
Also I have an iphone app and the web access open and the windows 7 app has three extra tasks not on my other two interfaces at this moment and a completed task will not leave my lists on all three?
ok so one of my folders or projects is linked to an action and you see folder in both iphone and online web access but not in beta 6 windows app…even thought the action shows that that action is linked to the folder in the standalone win app within the action itself – again while simultaneously not showing that folder in the folders column in the standalone app….weird…took a screenshot
that project folders tasks are showing in the inbox even though the tasks are linked tothe project….ok wait a second – somehow my project became the inbox – i must have clicked that unintentionally – i saw it but didnt want to do that and somehow it became my new inbox….
i’ll this one my mistake for now…. :)
Thanks everyone for great comments and suggestions. We’re very excited about this new app and we want to show our competitors we can build a fantastic app. We’re fixing now the windows issue (moving windows), we’re redesigning the UI to make it “nicer” as well. And we’re nailing the seamless sync finally. It’s all coming out very nicely. We’ll send you our last beta before Christmas and then the final version in the beginning of January. Stay tuned and keep the feedback coming!
Please, please, please, please include comprehensive keyboard shortcuts in the beta before Christmas or the final version at the beginning of January!
Maybe I am missing the obvious, but I can’t figure out how to delete a project. Is this missing?
fine , i am trying to integrete it , but i have very often failures un syncing , maybe this will solve the problems , lets try it , ill hope i can use it before my free acount is expired. greetings and thanks for the good work
