I know you’re waiting for this app. Believe me, we are too. It just takes so much time to get this thing done right, but we’re wrapping this up.
We’re busy testing Nozbe for iPhone…
And right now we’re finishing up the syncing feature of the app to make sure it syncs flawlessly with your Nozbe.com account.
When you download Nozbe for iPhone it will greet you with a nice welcome screen, where you’ll be able to either start right away with a free app (with the same limits as the free Nozbe.com account) or you’ll just sync with your current Nozbe account.

After that, you’ll be able to use the app offline and play with it to get your stuff done.
Here’s a screenshot for adding new task and for browsing contexts:

More about the sync…
Nozbe for iPhone will sync with your current Nozbe.com account both manually and automatically.
It was our logic choice that you might want to sync “on demand”... so one click and you’re syncing already.
This is the harder part. We didn’t know if you wanted to sync every 5 minutes, after every “action” like adding/removing/editing stuff… so we decided to cut the times you’re syncing and Nozbe will sync each time after it’s launched and after it’s closed.
Note: You will be able to disable auto-sync anytime so that it doesn’t try to sync when you’re abroad or on the plane.
What do you say? How do you want Nozbe for iPhone to sync? Is it the way you imagined it? Post your comments on Nozbe for iPhone below… it’s coming to the iPhone near you very soon…

I agree with Gary. It’s the best way to go for me as well. Looking forward to getting this!
Michael: Your concept seems to be right. But please do not sync the notes and not at all the files. Sync time should be as short as possible. At least we should have the opt-out possibility.
As long as we have some basic syncing options, and it isn’t all or nothing I would be satisfied.
Question – Will our Nozbe calendar sync with the Iphone calendar or does the Nozbe app have an embedded calendar of its own?
Michael – great job! Its looking really good. For some reason I wasn’t thinking that the app would be syncing over the air, this is great news indeed. And I definitely would like a Sync on demand along with syncing on open or close. I would like to access notes and files from the iPhone, even if we have to have network access to do so. Thanks for the update, John
sync at the beginning, at the end and on demand sounds OK to me. Also the idea of not syncing the files seems sensible.
waiting anxiously for the app… ;) I think is going to be very useful for me. Thanks, Edu
Just to add my voice of support for the status quo – on/off/manual really covers it! And while notes should not provide such a heavy burden, I agree file synching could be an option to keep it slick when wi-fi isn’t available. So…... when??? :)
+1… on/off/manual is perfect. I’d like notes access in some form, but I do understand wanting short sync times. Looking forward to this!
+1 on/off/manual. Perhaps the option to only sync on Wifi access (like Byline). Notes sync optional also? Great shots … can’t wait!
As we tested the app, syncing the notes is not a problem and everything syncs very well and very fast, especially on the wifi… so if you sync initially on the wifi, later syncing via edge should be no problem. The data flows very lightweight (JSON for those technically inclined) and it makes the process very snappy :-)
Hey guys
I didn`t get – is it an offline tool? So I can reach all my actions and notes without inet connection? And then after my iPhone will connect it can be sync?
Due to your question I prefer to sync on app open/close as Gary suggest.
And I have a favour to ask of you. Could u plz show us a screenshot with Next actions list – i`m interesting in how it will be filtering realized
Hi Michael.
I think syncing upon exit may be annoying. Usually when you exit Nozbe you want to go to another application, at moment like that you don’t want to wait for Nozbe to finish syncing.
Is the API available for the “technically inclined” to write their own clients?
Make sure that syncing is done w/o blocking foreground user interface! If I just want to quickly open Nozbe to add an action, I don’t want to be delayed by sync.
Also, don’t forget Calendar view (missing from current iNozbe).
Is there any way to get in on the beta testing of the iPhone app?
Please consider similar over-the-air sync functionality for Windows Mobile phones. Thx!
when i add a new task or check a task as “done” in the iphone app and then sync the changes are overwritten by what was on the web version of nozbe??? ca i have the sync to be 2-way?
Michael – thanks for posting the screenshots. Looking good! Personally, I wouldnt want/need anything more than syncing once the app is opened, and when it closes. I use Zenbe (half-heatedly) for lists, and they do it the same way…it works great. I would just say – as long as you have a “sync” button to force a sync. We can’t wait. Any release date yet?
