We’ve been working on this for quite a while now and Tomasz, our Chief Developer, with a lot of magic and secret code, finally posted the 1st phase of Nozbe’s offline support.
Browsing Projects, Contexts and Actions without an active Internet Connection
We’ll be rolling out more offline features in the coming weeks but wanted to start with something and now you can browse your entire Nozbe account when offline, and you can even mark actions as DONE.
When your Internet connection resumes, the changes will sync automagically. Here’s a short video showing you Nozbe offline in action:
We officially support Webkit-based browsers, meaning Google Chrome and Safari, though we’ll try to support Firefox and IE in the future. Opera is partially supported.
Like it?
Let us know in the comments how do you like our new offline support. How is it going for you?

I use Firefox. Hope it’s working well for others.
We’re working constantly on improving the offline experience but we wanted to show you something as quickly as possible. While the offline mode might work on all of the browsers, we’ve noticed that on Chrome/Safari the experience is best. We’ll be working hard on supporting all of the browsers very soon.
For me still the coolest thing ever is that it actually works offline without any additional plugin or any special environment. Now on to adding more features to it ;-)
good job – i see no issue with the fact that the experience with chrome and safari is best – as those are the browsers that are working hard to move ahead of the pack.
Webkit browsers are the future of the web (with html5). I appreciate the forward-looking strategy of using those browsers (Chrome and Safari) as the first implementations of this new feature. Nice job. I’m looking forward to what comes next.
Michael I have been unable to access my account for over 48 hours I have emailed support but have heard nothing??? Maybe I can get some response through this medium?? Is anyone else having or had the same problem??? My business cant afford this kind of downtime Thanks Your urgent help
@ross @h2rocks, thanks for the heads up.
@don – we’re digging deep to find out what caused your Chrome to stop seeing Nozbe.com page. I just emailed you with some suggestions on how to solve this problem. I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this. We’re digging deep to find the solution why in some rare cases Chrome shows an unavailable page. We’ll post back soon. Meanwhile please read my email. Thanks and sorry again!
This is a marvelous feature!
I’d say must have feature for online gtd system. I’m going to follow your updates and may be one day I’ll turn back to nozbe.
As it has been already said in the comments, webkit browsers and html5 are the future of the Web and it’s great to see another great project that benefits from it.
I like the offline browsing and mark as done feature. I really want to be able to add new items. AFAIK, drag and drop can wait, but adding new TODO items will mean I can use Nozbe much more than I do. I’m a network installer and frequently have no Internet connection.
@Wing, thanks for the heads up.
@Rohan, adding tasks is coming very soon, so keep your fingers crossed. We’re very busy making it happen. We’ll eventually bring most of the Nozbe feature-set offline ;-)
I’ve just started using your system. I’ve not done anything to —at least intentionally —to take me off line and, i’m hooked up to the internet. Why do I keep getting a “this function is not enabled offline” comment and have to reload?
I see the same problem as Lynn (using latest version of Safari). Started happening since partial offline mode was enabled. Is there any way to disable offline support? I am almost always online.
@Lynn, @Colin – do you still have this problem? If so, please contact our support and we’ll try to resolve this and track down the issue. We’ve made several fixes lately, so hopefully this should work great by now.
I’m getting a permanent ‘hourglass’ under Context and blank central panel in offline mode. I am running Safari on the iPad.
Seems like it’s fixed now – haven’t had this problem for a while – thanks
I’ve got my Nozbe account integrated with Fluid so it looks like its own app, but probably until there’s a way to create projects, actions and contexts offline, I won’t get a paid subscription yet as the usage is limited for me. My office has a secure intranet where I can’t connect to Nozbe at all (thanks to our global firewalls). Once that feature rolls out, then I’d be so all over the subscription. :) I did get the iPad and iPhone apps though, which I use temporarily until the offline browser mode is fully functional.
. I’m jus getting into GTD and I love Evernote. So I thought I’d give it a shot.I have a couple of questions can I acres nozbe offline on my iPad? Also, the nozbe app for iPad sounds sweet but I’m very cost comcious since my business so new. Will the price of the app ever drop? Thanks for your time.
If it’s only for Chrome and Safari I don’t like it.
