Wouldn’t it be nice to install Nozbe web app as a stand-alone app on your computer? I’ve learned that many of my users are already doing this so I did it myself this week and wanted to make it really simple for the rest of us.
Basically this means that one dedicated browser window is now an app. It’s really cool and most of all, helps prevent distractions. Plus, since Nozbe’s interface doesn’t rely a lot on Forward/Back browser keys, it works very well.
Update: In the comments Mickey Mellen noted that if you’re using Google Chrome browser you can just click on menu “File” and then “Create Application Shortcut” to do the very same thing.
Here’s the step-by-step process:
1. Download a high-res Nozbe icon from here – just “save image as…”
2. If you’re on a Mac, install Fluid, open it up and use this info:
URL: http://www.nozbe.com/account/index
Name: Nozbe
Location: Applications
Icon: Other… and choose the high-res icon you’ve downloaded in step 1
If you’re on a PC, get Mozilla Prism and use the same data as above:
3. Enjoy!
The Nozbe web-app will be created and you’ll be able to use it, add it to your dock or desktop and launch it to get more done!

Yup – that’s what I use (the Chrome shortcut, that is) – don’t use Chrome for anything else oddly!

I’ve been using Nozbe this way for a while now using SRWare’s Iron browser. All the functionality of Chrome, none of the privacy loss! Marv!

I run Nozbe as a web app in Chrome too. Since I was able to start blocking pesky ads, I’ve started to use Chrome much more – especially since Firefox is becoming a bit of a resource hog.
I’m on a Mac and I don’t seem to make it work correctly. I’ve got Nozbe running as an Fluid app the way is described in the blog but when I click on a project in left menu it opens in a new browser window instead of loading it in the app. That makes the whole app thing pretty useless. My default browser is Chrome.
Jan, do you use Nozbe 2.0 or Nozbe classic (the old version) – I use Nozbe like this everyday and it works beautifully.

sorry this just doesn’t work on Mac. I get a login screen in Fluid, but after login, it launches Nozbe in a new Firefox tab. Doesn’t the login force an https:// session, and is this part of the issue? Shouldn’t the Fluid link be https://?
I got this to work, but only by telling Fluid to allow ANY URL.
So the workaround is to go to “Advanced’ in the Preferences pane, and select “Allow browsing to any URL”.
Perhaps Nozbe can inform us of all the URLs required, so that we can return to the safer limited URL selection.
I got this to work by changing the “Allow browsing to URLs matching these patterns:” under Advanced in Preferences:

I am trying to fun Nozbe as a Fluid app, however after I create it as a Fluid app, it asks me to log-in, and then when I do, it kicks me over to my internet broswer.
I can’t figure out how to be signed in on my Fluid app.

It’s worth noting that Google Chrome has a similar feature. Click the options button, then “Create Application Shortcuts”. Voila!
