Two weeks after Nozbe 2.0 launched - a lot has happened!

Michael   Tuesday, August 25
Comments: 27

Two weeks have passed after the Nozbe 2.0 launch and and in my response to your comments I made it clear we want Nozbe 2.0 to be the best GTD app on the Internet.

We’ve been very busy making sure most of the ported features are there and most of the issues have been fixed and resolved.

This is what we’ve done so far:

- Added “Project names” in the Next action and context views

- Introduced filtering to Next Actions just like in Nozbe v.1

- Improved Calendar and due dates and added quick action button to the Calendar (more calendar enhancements are coming!)

- massively improved “Review” function of Nozbe – now even with hundreds of projects the review should load quickly and there should be no problem with scrpt not loading entirely

- added lots of other small fixes and improvements based on your fantastic feedback

Having said all that, we’re not 100% there yet with Nozbe 2.0 – there are still many refinements we’re working on this week and next week and we’ll introduce them gradually.

Again, thanks for your great feedback and keep it coming! – we’re listening and making sure that we really make 2.0 the best GTD productivity app on the Internet – and thanks to great users like you we’re making this happen.

P.S. To all the GTD (R) black belts there, we’ll be introducing a real proper Inbox soon, so stay tuned!

Thanks for revamping the Inbox! Looking forward to using it.

Hi Michael – great post! It gives me huge heart in your passion for GTD and pride in your product.

Looking forward to seeing what new delights you have in store for us generally and of course, those “black belt” touches! ;)

Michael, great job on 2.0, you had mentioned months ago that you were going to do a WinMo Nozbe app, is that still in the cards?

:-)
Dr. Joe 25 Aug 09 22:31

Michael: would it be possible to make a more comprehensive list of the features that are coming down the pike? I realize it’s hard to know when exactly they may be available, but I’ve noticed that the forums are filled questions that start, “Where is [insert Nozbe Classic Feature here]?” I think it would save a lot of space (and anxiety) on the forums if we knew which features you were planning to unveil in the near future. That way, we could just sit back and enjoy Nozbe 2.0 as it unfolds. Thanks, Joe

I am frustrated because when I have an existing project open, and am generating new actions—they are all getting listed in the first project on the project list instead of in the project that is open and being worked on. Is there any way around this other than going into the other project and moving them?

:-)
Juan Ros 26 Aug 09 00:45

Michael – the same is happening with me. New Actions, Notes, and Files are defaulting to the Inbox, even when you are trying to add from within an existing Project!

:-)

There was an issue today with this in some cases, but it’s been corrected just now. Please check again and let me know.

:-)

Michael: Can you update us about upcoming revisions to the iPhone app? Multiple Contexts PLEEEZ!

:-)
Juan Ros 26 Aug 09 04:43

Thanks for the quick fix on this issue, Michael!! Keep up the great work on Nozbe!

:-)
Brian Tait 26 Aug 09 17:33

Michael – thank you for the improved and more frequent communication. When sending an e-mail to Nozbe that includes notes and tasks, the notes should be associated with the task that is included in the e-mail. Instead, they are being added as an independent note. Will you be updating this functionality?

:-)

Please take care of this BUG:
In Next Actions View, when filtering for a Label, it does not work.

:-)
Jacques Laufer 27 Aug 09 19:45

While doing a Weekly Review, I often need to add new ToDo’s under projects while I’m reviewing status. As far as I can tell, in 2.0, there is no way to add a new task without getting out of Review. Could you please add a new task button in the Review pane? Thanks!

:-)
Brian Tait 28 Aug 09 01:07

Jacques – I just encountered the same issue. I had to leave my weekly review to add a task. Michael – this seems like it should be a quick win. Any chance we will see this implemented soon?

:-)
Eric Chiaramonte 30 Aug 09 15:06

I keep seeing comments on the Review Pane and Improved Review Process, but I can’t find this “magic” review area of Nozbe. I’m new here, can someone help?

:-)
Juan Ros 30 Aug 09 23:19

Eric – click on “Projects” in Nozbe 2.0 and it will take you to the Review screen!

:-)
Haim Korkus 31 Aug 09 10:28

Till now, seems to be very helpful

:-)
Bruce Wilcox 1 Sep 09 18:26

I’m loving the new Nozbe! However, I would like to second the request for the ability to add a new action from the Weekly Review page.

:-)
ingvald 2 Sep 09 11:26

i have a feature request for inozbe.com:
when i open igoogle or netvibes, i’d like to see all the gtd info at once, w/out having to click anything.
so i’d like to be able to make the “next actions” list the default start screen…

:-)
Josh Cowen 3 Sep 09 20:09

Feature request
I just started using this and Nozbe seems like the best fit for us. However would love to see the following:
1) An option in settings that automatically shares projects with your whole team in the business accounts.
2) An option to turn off the start page.
3) When a team member shares a project it would also share the project labels and contexts.

Thanks,
Josh

:-)
Josh Cowen 3 Sep 09 22:03

Also, it would be nice to disable getting an email when someone shares a project or you share one with someone else.

:-)
Alex Tillard 4 Sep 09 17:45

In calendar view, can we have a the project show up in small letters underneath, like there is in the “Next Actions” view? That way I don’t have to add the project title in each action to make sure it’s clear at a glance when I’m in calendar view. Thanks!

:-)
Michael 5 Sep 09 01:38

Alexandra – definitely right – we’ll include this in the calendar rewrite we’re doing now.

Josh – great suggestions, thanks!

Guys – great feedback, keep it coming, just posted a video of a small tweak we really enjoyed doing.

:-)
Josh Cowen 8 Sep 09 20:52

It would also be nice to filter based on who it is assigned to. Not sure where that would go but that would be helpful as well. Thanks for your work on this.

:-)
Josh Cowen 14 Sep 09 15:02

Another thing we are finding that would be valuable is to be able to “complete” or “share” a project even if we did not initially create the project.

:-)
Alex Tillard 17 Sep 09 15:55

Hi Michael!

Another thing I’m wondering is if, when creating a new action, we can assign it right there. Now I have to create it, then go back to it and assign it, which is just an extra step I don’t think is necessary. Thanks!

:-)
Matt 28 Sep 09 06:03

Michael – I have only been using this a few days, however wow! great app! Just keen to get the iPhone app sorted out though (sync is a real problem) – any date for release of this?
