Update: We’ve just improved the “weird fonts” problem in the Windows build. Please download the Windows version again and let us know. Thanks! – Michael

We’ve released a prerelease beta7 to our trusted Nozbe beta-testers, received great feedback, fixed several bugs and now we’re releasing the improved beta7 for everyone to enjoy:

Win: Download Nozbe beta7 for Windows

Mac: Download Nozbe beta7 for Mac

P.S. Even if you downloaded the beta7 prerelease last week, make sure to download the improved version today. Watch out for Nozbe Android 2.0 tomorrow!

Still getting the weird fonts instead of icons. Where can I post a screenshot?
Kept getting an error when logging in or synchronizing, but apparently I can only be logged in from one place at a time. I logged out online and it was OK (I hope this doesn’t happen with the Android app, that could be annoying). I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, but if so it would be good to handle it properly rather than an ‘error:undefined error’ message.

Timothy Etter 6 Jan 12 02:35

Same here on the weird fonts. Running Windows XP. Uninstalled and reinstalled with same problem.

:-)
Dave Mariano 6 Jan 12 03:37

Mac version: width (portion including task details) expands beyond screen width every time I click on a specific task. I have to drag the whole application window back and forth to see everything. Please let me know if my description isn’t clear. Thanks for a great product. I’ve been waiting for the desktop app. Thanks!

:-)
Jacques Laufer 6 Jan 12 06:14

Same problem with the weird fonts. This occurs on laptop running WinXP and desktop running Win7. It appears that some symbol font was intended, but a serif font gets picked up instead.

:-)
Michał 6 Jan 12 07:57

Works fine on my PC, but I’m really surprised that the application look completely different then the web version. Is there any particulat reason for that?

:-)
David Cornish 6 Jan 12 09:35

I had the same font issue on Win 7×64. I fixed it by going to C:Program Files (x86)NozbeResourcesappcss in My Computer, opening the glyphish font file and installing the font. Before : http://corni.sh/19. After : http://corni.sh/1a.

:-)
David Cornish 6 Jan 12 09:35

Looks like Nozbe’s blog stripped out the backslashes there – C: | Program Files (x86) | Nozbe | Resources | app | css

:-)
David Cornish 6 Jan 12 09:36

The issue Dave is having on the mac isn’t mac specific – it’s doing it on Windows too. Very irritating!

:-)
David Cornish 6 Jan 12 09:43

When the tasks in the view scroll down (too many to fit on one screen), then when creating a new task, the text entry box is positioned below the new line : http://corni.sh/1b

:-)
Michael 6 Jan 12 12:24

We have just uploaded a new version of Windows app – it should fix the font problems – please let us know if it fixed it! Thanks

:-)
Jesse Lahey 6 Jan 12 12:31

I don’t see the option to filter projects by Label, like we can on the web and iPhone version.

:-)
Jesse Lahey 6 Jan 12 12:39

Oh, I see the Label option (sorry for the dumb question)! I like the app so far. It might be nice to be able to reply to comments, so the comments could be viewed in conversation threads.

:-)
Timothy Etter 6 Jan 12 13:40

Michael-The new version fixed the font/icon issue for me.

:-)
Manuel Menezes de Sequeira 6 Jan 12 18:17

The new Mac version looks really nice. There are a few glitches, though. Where should I report them?

:-)
ron 6 Jan 12 20:52

Hi, are the windows/mac apps integrated with dropbox/evernote yet? I just see “Your account is not connected to Dropbox/Evernote.” I have them connected and am able to see them via the web. Thanks

:-)
Ron Bertino 7 Jan 12 18:08

Please add the feature similar to the web version, where we can click on “Projects” on the left, and see the 3 next actions per project, for all of our projects.

:-)
Tom Kenny 8 Jan 12 13:20

Just great, Michael. A desktop app was EXACTLY what I wanted. Lovely design, good interface.

Your energy and enthusiasm are impressive! I shall play your YouTube new year’s message for my students, to show how non-native English speakers like you speak with courage and confidence!

:-)
slid3r 8 Jan 12 16:22

What about android app? Couldn’t finde new version on market.

:-)
Rene 9 Jan 12 03:43

Yeah. Why even mention the Android app “which is going out tomorrow” unless it already is out?

:-)
BruceMarriott 9 Jan 12 08:34

There is still no new Android app released in the Market that I can see.

The development blog at:
http://test.nozbe.com/post/15079099334/nozbe-android-and-pc-mac-for-testing

Has a version you can install yourself – “Nozbe Android 2”. It’s not good, as I said here:
http://www.nozbe.com/gtd/blog/post-67ff1f40/happy_new_year_2012_-and_pre-release_nozbe_beta7_and_android_20-

It may be that they are trying to improve before putting on the market. Its all confused – I see PC Beta 7 was released, changed, and then released again and still called beta 7. This is no way to run a computer business and it seems ridiculous that we go though 6 Android beta’s (from 1.0 to 1.5) over 9 months and then they introduce a new UI, call it Android 2 and its still buggy and functionally deficient. And I also belatedly see when download it is labelled as Nozbe version 1.5 in the settings/app dialogues. It is isn’t because of the UI changes. But it somehow underlines again the slap-dash approach of Nozbe to planning, testing and release etc.

lexmirnov 9 Jan 12 12:01

BUG in Nozbe for Android:

The task is duplicated if you click on Save button on add task screen several times before it changes for task list.

Solution: DISABLE save button after the first tap on it ))

:-)
Lars Bobach 9 Jan 12 14:46

The app looks great. Really annoying are the changing sizes of the program window all the time… i use a big screen with fixed windows for all open programs, nozbe is not working in this environment

:-)
Mike Truman 10 Jan 12 07:39

Had the weird icons before, don’t with the latest release, thank you. Like the look of the new icons, but they are a little understated, and crucially they are not the same as the web version – both are a problem for immediately reminding you of what the context is. Real problem with expanding window – it goes off the side of the screen when expanded through projects and into a particular action, and when I pull the side back in it still expands again as I keep using it, but this time with blank space to the right. Although I can see the logic behind expanding the window only when it is needed, it does need to stay the size I set it in order to be usable for me, as Lars said above: screen real estate is valuable, and I have to decide who gets it, not the program!

:-)
Konrad Klunejko 10 Jan 12 15:17

Are there shortcuts for adding tasks etc? If so, is there a list somewhere?

thanks

:-)
Marcin Kwiecinski 10 Jan 12 15:48

Hi, On Win7 64bit fonts work fine now.

:-)
Karl Burkum 10 Jan 12 17:59

The calendar picker on the web version has the weeks starting on Sunday. The calendar picker on the Windows client has the weeks starting on Monday. Maintain consistency with the user experience across the platforms. Possibly give the users the ability to choose which type of calendar they want to use via a user setting variable.

:-)
Karl Burkum 10 Jan 12 18:02

@Lars B – I too am seeing the window “issues” you noted. There is some really strange behavior with the way the Nozbe window renders / re-renders itself when changing window size, moving the window from one monitor to the next, syncing causing displayed controls to disappear, etc.

@Nozbe – I would be happy to get on a quick Skype session to show / illustrate this behavior via a screen sharing session. Just let me know.

:-)
Mike Truman 11 Jan 12 14:24

Update: you can make it just about workable by pulling the right hand side in as far as it will go immediately after launching, but click on projects and then in an action and it is double its length, still going off the screen.

:-)
Karl Burkum 11 Jan 12 14:51

I’ve also seen the following happening in a dual monitor setup (on multiple computers (different graphics cards) with dual monitor setups)...

1) Place the Nozbe window on a “secondary” monitor with some other windows / applications

2) Undock your laptop / remove the second monitor

3) All open applications on the second monitor return to “home base” on the primary monitor

4) System still thinks the Nozbe app is on the second monitor and it is not visible (but running / open)

:-)
Mike Truman 11 Jan 12 15:56

+1 to Karl’s point above (I hadn’t worked out quite what had gone wrong, but with hindsight this is what it was…)

Also – open a pre-existing note in a task, and it shows correctly. Click into it to edit and it defaults to a courier font. Edit and click OK, and goes back to the right font, but loses line breaks. Sync, and it all sorts itself out correctly.

:-)
Ray Anderson 11 Jan 12 20:01

I downloaded a file from a project, but I didn’t notice how to upload (a) a new file or (b) an updated file to the same file name.

Thank you for your hard work.

:-)
CJ Fritsch 11 Jan 12 21:09

On the web version you could put a date of “this week”, “next week”, or “week 26”, etc. and the item would should up in the calendar view for that particular week. This function does not appear to be available in the desktop version. Any plans on adding this functionality? I use this quite often when needing to make sure something gets done by a particular week, but not necessarily a particular date. Is it possible to at least have non-dated items show up in the calendar view?

:-)
Erica Potechin 11 Jan 12 22:07

On the Windows version you can’t get view the comments in the unread comments tab. You click on it and the right tab slides out and pops right back in without showing you any content.

:-)
Marcin Kwiecinski 13 Jan 12 12:53

WIN – Feature Request – Please implement Windows 7 Jump list functionality. It woluld be great to have options like: Inbox/Next Actions/Projects/Contexts/This Week under right clik of the icon, when Nozbe app is pinned to taskbar

:-)
Marcin Kwiecinski 13 Jan 12 17:03

BUG (Win7 64bit) I have the same issue that Karl Burkum. After runing Nozbe on two monitors, it runs, but I cannot see rendered window. In practice I cannot work with Nozbe Web Client now (even after reinstalation) :(

:-)
Marcin Kwiecinski 13 Jan 12 19:29

Found workaround – move cursor over the nozbe icon on taskbar, then move it over preview and right-clik.Select maximize option.

:-)
Michael Hyatt 14 Jan 12 14:27

BUG (Mac) The order and color of projects does not sync to the iPhone app. I could live without the color on the iPhone app, but the order is essential. Thanks.

:-)
Michael Hyatt 14 Jan 12 14:28

FEATURE REQUEST (MAC) Keyboard shortcuts for new tasks, project, deletion, etc.

:-)
Simon Vrdoljak 17 Jan 12 06:38

You really need to start changing the release version numbers every time there’s an update. Even the minor ones. I end up downloading each release multiple times because I can’t tell if the version I have is the latest. You should call the updates version 1.7.1, 1.7.2, etc. It’s just common sense. Also, the download link should reflect the updated version number.

This will also help speed up the debugging process for each version. As it stands now, every time somebody find a bug in a version they have to download it again just to be sure that they’re using the latest version.

:-)
chrisdymond 17 Jan 12 11:41

BUG (PC): synching overwrites any changes made to project colours with the old ones in the desktop app.

:-)
MIchael Casey 18 Jan 12 22:48

On the latest release of Nozbe (beta 7) the program will load but the screen is not visible. I can see it is the task bar, but the window will not appear when it is clicked-on. Any ideas?

:-)
Timothy Phelan 22 Jan 12 12:04

Can you link your Evernote account with the Nozbe (beta 1.7) Mac version? It says “your account is not connected to Evernote” but I do not see any way to connect them…Same with Dropbox.

:-)
Timothy Phelan 22 Jan 12 12:08

Sorry, problem solved. I need to connect my Evernote to Nozbe on-line first. Cool. All set now.

:-)

Icons don’t work

:-)
Natalie 27 Jan 12 03:12

Is there a way to have the desktop application automatically sync? I keep forgetting to sync at home and then have an outdated file on my work desktop.

:-)
Ray Anderson 30 Jan 12 20:41

I have the same problem as Michael Casey. The screen is no longer visible.

:-)
Timothy Hickernell 4 Feb 12 23:49

First glance at Mac app. Looks much improved. I appreciate the color options; please don’t ever be tempted to feed the “color vampire” in Lion, by making everything gray. Color coding is so important to project and task management.

:-)
Terence Lee 5 Feb 12 03:08

I have the same problem as Michael Casey above. In Windows 7 with latest beta of Windows version, I can see app in Task bar but it doesn’t open when I click on it. Help???

:-)
Marcin Kwiecinski 6 Feb 12 17:55

BUG: Next actions are not visible (altough I have 30 marked by star

:-)
alessandro.faccendetti 8 Feb 12 15:30

Installed, works fine, despite the fact that at opening size is beyond the screen

:-)
Nick Wood 12 Feb 12 05:15

How do you input your evernote account to sync? just says no evernotes in this view

:-)
Doug Friedlander 18 Feb 12 23:34

Any updates on when the final version will be released? As of last update, wasn’t it supposed to be released by the end of January at the very latest???

:-)
Andrew Speyer 20 Feb 12 13:32

Why does the calendar on the Mac version start on Monday — not true on the web version?

:-)
Ruud Bijvank 20 Feb 12 14:44

I’m a little late at this party. Basically the windows version works, although I prefer the Web interface. Anyhow. What disturbs me a little bit it the expanding window width every time there a detail availble (e.g. click on a task). That should really be handled within the window. Especially working on a tablet in portrait mode, this is not very handy.
Furthermore, the application is not aware of screen size and position at all.

:-)
Michael Hyatt 21 Feb 12 15:06

Bug: the main project window has moved up on my screen. The title bar is no longer visible. I can’t seem to get the window back. There is nothing to grab and no window commands.

:-)
Ruud Bijvank 22 Feb 12 13:20

For now I stick to the browser / ipad version. The windows version does not work for me.

:-)
Joost Vuijk 4 Mar 12 18:59

Same problem as Michael Hyatt. I have the Mac-version…
any updates coming soon?
